B - I agree to this point. Amrita doesnt gimme housewife vibes to be honest. I feel she left her job due to pregnancy. Once the baby takes birth she will rejoin once again its Zama Habib's show after all he will never show a non ambitious FL when Meera (Parallel FL) herself is an office girl.

What do you think is more relatable for an Indian child: an old man married to a beautiful young girl (Modern Family) or a girl struggling her way through mechanical engineering because the society thinks she doesn’t belong there (Sadda Haq)? Can you imagine the disappointment that one feels when you see all these high school rom-com series online and realise that you will never have a prom to go to? We don’t need the foreign series to condition us into thinking that somehow our lives are not as good as theirs. The colonisation of the mind is something very difficult to win against and that is what we expose our youth to by not providing them with proper TV shows, made especially for them. How India and Indians are represented in Hollywood is cultural appropriation and we don’t realise it.

Youth consider entertainment as enrichment and it’s not just about filling gaps of time between doing other things but about learning to cope with difficult situations through the characters and storylines of their favourite series. This generation’s interests are not one but very diverse, they are dynamic but not impulsive; complex but not chaotic. What is lacking in the youth entertainment programs today is experimentation- daring to take some risks and providing relatable content to the edgy youth. The Indian Television needs to change their approach towards the scripts of the series that is produced, television is no longer an idiot box or set-top box which just entertained with mindless content full of drama and suspense. Media has a greater role to play in society now than ever before and hence it is important that our television offers content for all its viewers suitable to current needs and the future.
