An example would be if a character in a show recognizes himself as an actor in the real world, like Shiva watching Pandya Store and complimenting KD's acting... or an intersection between real and reel. Basically you use the term to refer to anything that blurs the lines bw/connects reel and real.

I love it whenever characters break the 4th wall 😆 It's always so funny! Even when characters say, "Ugh, god! Why are you so slow at saying everything we're not in an ITV show!" (which happened just yesterday when I watched a serial in the South 😆)

Same sentiments. Initially I laughed it off even tho they are brothers, just saw it as fans pausing at the right frames and getting funny images. Now it's going overboard fueled by other reasons.

It's so much fun for fans! I love shows going meta or including easter eggs. I wish we'd see more in ITV apart from the usual watching a serial or talking to the audience... webseries and english shows do it in such creative ways!
