Dev did seem to give up on her and their marriage. He became too complacent with how everything was going on...him worshipping his mother, ignoring Sonakshi and her concerns and neglecting the issues his kids were trying to tell him about. As long as his happy family (read happy mother) bubble was intact...he didn't bother. If there was any instance in this season which showed his loving and caring side towards his wife... please point it out. I don't remember if there was any. It was Sonakshi who was missing the bond they shared till now.

Now that Sonakshi refused to put up with the facade of being happy anymore...he is unable to digest the fact. He is unable to accept that she can leave him and can think of his God like mother to be in the wrong. Not once he had even a self thought that his mother was in the wrong. It's his and his mother's way or the highway. So why can't Sonakshi also choose the highway?

I refuse to comment much on the God like mother because for me she is irredeemable.

You have so nicely put down every thought I had!! I mean, if this is how it is, and if this is an ideal couple, people shouldn't get married only. Secondly, you hit the nail on its head when you mentioned how only Sona is missing their relationship, how only she is the one who is making efforts. In a way, although unintentionally, Dev lied to Sonakshi. He said he loved her the most but the fact is that she never was his priority. The moment they got married back in s1 he took her for granted. When she left because of his mistakes and his horrible family, he BLAMED her. Now, history is repeating itself. Dev is again not valuing her, taking her for granted. If she decides to leave him again, which would be the right thing for her normal peace of mind, dev would again blame her for being a bad mother, ishwari and Mami will not stop with the taunts. Its not about romance but about basic companionship, friendship and most importantly respect, which he gave her probably only in her dreams.

Something Dev should ponder over ...he considers his relationship with his mother to be the most supreme but does she actually support him? Or she just forces her decisions on him and expects him to accept those without any questions. She said so today. Again my question...did he ever grow up? No matter how mcuh a person is momma's boy ...at one point they grow out of it...but Dev is too complacent with how everyone has adjusted to his relationship with his mother. Every other relationship that he has is put at stake for this one relationship. I think he is an incapable person who is just capable of being a son. Even if he marries or gets together with another woman...the issue will still remain. Because it is not a woman's job to FIX a man. It is a sole responsibility of a human being to self reflect and change if needed. But as I said he doesn't have the capability to even think for anything beyond his mom...that is even after having his own children for who he is responsible as well. People like him should never get married until they realise what kind of fcuked up enviornment they are going to bring a third person into. That third person can be a wife or even a child.

His situation isn't just that of a momma's boy....it is much more than that. He needs therapy. I would say his mother too but she is irredeemable. She would even make the psychiatrist go mad. Let's spare them.

Also I think Sonakshi has shown tons of patience to stay with Ishwari and her son. She's been committed to the man since 10 years? That shows her patience level. Unless she was with someone during the period they were separated? Did they get together with others?

But after the slap fiasco, he started to fell off. And after breakup no turning to bacj to dev. I watched that farm house breakup epi 4 times, to see if I can forgive dev. But no..I cannot after hearing such bad words for sona..for me that's it..

Sona tried to fix Dev in the beginning phase of marriage

Every one is responsible for themselves

Accept Dev with all his short coming , there are people living happily
