Alright time's up! Results, eliminations, and round 2 coming up!

Each word is represented by a different colour of dots.

The yellow dots form the word "hack".

The green dots form the word "Holmes".

The blue dots form the word "season".

The red dots form the word "insect". I also accepted "nicest" as an option. No other options were accepted.

The purple dots form the word "trap". No other options were accepted.

Given the trouble people had with this round I pushed everyone through except people who didn't answer the round. Next round forward you will get hints but...read on. The following members were eliminated for non-submission and the bottom 4 people quit:

After staring at the screen for an hour, Player suddenly sat up and exclaimed, “I’ve got it! The dots! There are 5 colours. I bet if we write down the letters, then we can unscramble them into words.”

I got excited and said, “Alright let’s do one colour at a time.”

As Player read out the letters, I wrote them down in my trusty notebook. Once we had all the letters, we set about unscrambling the words. 20 minutes later, we had 5 words that seemed to be right. Player quickly typed them into the screen and pressed Enter. The screen became black again. As we waited, getting more and more tense, Player asked, “Did we mess up? Is it over? Are we finished?”

Then a message appeared on the screen, “Don’t worry. You haven’t failed just yet. But that was just the beginning. As these puzzles progress, we will make them more interesting and more fun. If you thought that was hard, then just wait for this puzzle. Let the fun begin.”

The message disappeared and a crossword puzzle appeared. I exclaimed, “This is absurd! How is this going to take us 3 hours? I already know 4 of the answers!”

“Yeah but there are like 40 words to fill in,” Player pointed out. “And some of these clues look hard. Let’s get started.”

Yes round 2 is a crossword puzzle. Some are easy, some are not. The puzzle and clues are listed below. Go for it and see how many you can solve. You don’t need to send me the filled out puzzle. Simply send me the answers to the numbers and I’ll accept those as is.

Each correct word will give you 2 points. Each blank will cost you 2 points. Wrong answers will not lose or give you any points. SO FILL ALL THE ANSWERS OUT EVEN IF YOU FEEL THEY ARE WRONG!

Given the way the last round turned out, I have now added the concept of hints. But everything comes at a price. So...for this round you're allowed 2 hints. You can ask me about anything. But each hint will cost you 10 points.

Only submit your answers once. I will not accept resubmissions.

You will not need to get every answer right (unlike Dr. Watson and Player) to get through. There is a minimum passing score that I will reveal when I reveal the answers.

This round will end on August 21st 11:59 PM IST.
