There was no taboo associated with it. Even Binoy marrying Sampoo who was so much younger than him was not really an issue for Anirudh (in terms of age).
We may get an introspection as well tomorrow, but pre-leap he had already known she had every quality to be his future partner and wife. It was made clear many many times. Their pure love was formed pre-leap itself. About the hormonal kind of love (I won't even call it romantic because romantic word means something else to me), that has been built after he saw her as a woman through VJ. The Sanyasini track was to connect VJ-Bon together, but he had already fallen in love with the essence of Bondita long back.
These love realizations are just a formality. In fact, I thought he already realized by the mandir confession.
I know it was the normal thing but for Anirudh, this wasn't normal and something he could ever accept. He was very averse to the idea of even viewing this child as a woman, I dunno how he might ever accept that he could feel romantic love towards that child.
I hope we do get an introspection! It is MUCH needed to make it easier to accept Ani's realization of love, they have not given any importance to introspection for either Bon or Ani in regards to what is happening with them or around them. It's just sudden jump into scenes with dialogues or day dreams.
I have slightly different opinion in regards to him already being aware of this side of his love for her by the mandir confession. I only felt he understood the pure bond they shared, the way he described their love was not along the lines of romantic love for me.
