I was in Haldia and then Kolkata..so my love Kolkata is more for its people than the city. i was a kid so couldn't explore the city much.

like my college was in Punjab, stayed there for 5.5 yrs. I didn’t really need to learn punjabi to sustain because everybody knew Hindi /English.
But I not only learned speaking Punjabi, but read and write as well. I had my own reasons/ motivation 😆

But I didn't even make any efforts yaar! I remember one day my classmates in school (the one who had hindi) were discussing some hw and I was like, reading the poem over their shoulders. And they asked me how I knew hindi, and I realised I didn't know myself 🤣

Ghar jaake sabse poocha, tab they told me apparently I've known it since I was 5 😳 Some hifi school took some sort of language test and I confidently wrote the "a se anaar" and stuff in proper hindi

It's not smart, it's weird 🤣
