@bold: That is a pretty common constraint especially in vedic traditions. Not sure how relevant it is to Kanwad Yatra, but in our community, if a man is married, he cannot sit in the Puja or Hawan without his wife. My husband has had to cancel pujas when I was unavailable.

Anita has not actually taken Sankalp. If you notice the punditji does puja of only the pots that the boys are carrying. Anita just has a mannat in her heart and is tagging along- the rules don't really apply to her.

Ya the creatives are capable of coming up with a lot of their own traditions. It is good that everyone is questioning- we can clarify fiction from fact.

For the record- I have never heard of only mom having to come along for unmarried men 🤨 Unless someone confirms this is a tradition I am going to assume writers' adbhut creative liberty to create 2Rs drama 😆
