We are two sisters and till now they convince my parents to give a chance or adopt a boy 😆 jbse badhaai ho dekhi hai tbse aur zyada force krne lage hai 🤣 and we are still treated as outsiders by our relatives because my mother didn't give in to their demands😆

Almost similar situation here too...

I am also a single child and till around 3-4 years ago, some relatives used to give gyaan to my parents on planning for a second kid, a boy. My parents and grandparents used to hawa mein filter the words of those relatives. 😆

Although here, a single child decision was of more my grandparents and less of my parents...

It's actually 'normal' for our society to think like that. Hai hai ladki hai bad mein kaun dekhega paisa kaun kamayga. My brother's fiance earns more than my bhai & people used to mock him for this. & Thank god my brother has talent to do hawa mein filter & he can be quite badtameez to badtameez people. So now it's all okay. Oh aunties used to say do behen hai kaun kis ko dekhgy(for his fiance) aise ladki ko kyu date kiya blah blah to my parents. & they used to roll their eyes.

You know what you need to adjust little bit in any relationship but our generation doesn't get it. We still don't talk about real issues. Main issue is this whole adjusting shouldn't be one sided. Balance should be there. My parents did lot of sacrifices for each other & it was okay because they knew how to balance it. But unfortunately Society has normalised this one-sided business.

Btw I remember someone had mentioned that they shipped Hermione and Draco on last AT I forgot who it was 😒
