Thank you!! 😳 I'm glad you feel the progression is somewhat realistic. I do hope to wrap things up nicely and not abruptly, and I hope you like the last part as well.

Part 6
Raghav rubbed the back of his neck as he walked into his hotel suite, looking forward to the hot shower that awaited his cramped muscles. Though his previous business trips to Singapore had been a breezy seven hours in first class, the only flight available at such short notice had turned into half a day, with a long layover in Colombo and a very uncomfortable attempt at a nap next to a crying baby in economy.
But the knowledge that he was one step closer to finally nailing this scumbag kept his adrenaline running, and he felt strangely keyed up despite his exhaustion. His phone buzzed as he stepped out of the steamy bathroom after his shower, feeling slightly more human again.
Message from: Mrs. Raghav Rao
Have you reached?
(Sent: 1:14am)
It was late in Hyderabad, even accounting for the time difference. His fingers hovered over his reply.
Their last conversation had been strained. Pallavi had seen right through his excuse of a sudden business emergency. There was a part of him that had wanted to take her in his arms one more time – wanted to smooth her furrowed brows, to kiss away the suspicious frown.
But her principles loomed between them, and he knew if he told her the truth she would do her best to talk him out of it, to let bygones be bygones – and he couldn’t, not with this. Something of his determination must have been written on his face because the fight suddenly went out of her, and when she simply warned him to be careful instead it felt like a hollow victory.
He had figured she would be asleep by now, her book lying haphazardly next to her and the lamp still on because she dozed off while reading yet again. But apparently she was still up, still thinking about him.
Yes, safe and sound. You should sleep.
Can’t sleep :(
He waited as she continued to type. Then – You should be home
Months ago that simple message would have meant nothing to him. But now he felt overwhelmed with the need to hear her voice. Can I call you?
A few moments later his phone rang, and her face appeared on his screen. “Hi,” she smiled shyly.
Shit, he thought. She was beautiful. She was sitting up in her room, her face freshly scrubbed, her hair twisted up into a loose bun. He could see a hint of lace from the edge of her camisole – red, coincidentally his new favorite color.
“Hi,” he said softly. “What are you doing?”
“Trying to sleep,” she sighed.
“What’s wrong? Miss me already?” He grinned as she rolled her eyes.
“Please. I finally got to finish my book today, with all the peace and quiet around here.” She smiled mischievously. “But it’s ok to admit that you miss me. I know that’s why you wanted to talk.”
“I miss my bed,” he retorted.
“Oh that’s all? Then I’ll let you go to sleep.” Suddenly he was looking at her ceiling as she fumbled for the end button.
“Wait, Pallavi –”
She reappeared, eyebrows raised. “Yes?”
“Maybe I do…miss you, I mean. And my bed.” Then because he could, he added in a low voice, “And especially you in my bed.”
The effect was almost instantaneous – he could see her turn red even through their video connection.
“That’s not fair,” she said. “Here I am worried about you and you’re sitting there flirting.”
The smile disappeared from his face. “You don’t need to worry.”
“Don’t I? You didn’t even take Farhad with you.”
“I feel better knowing he’s there with you.” He ran a towel through his still-wet hair. “Trust me. I’ll be back before you know it.”
She frowned, but to his relief let the issue go for the time being. “You must be tired. I’ll let you go to sleep.”
“I’m still waiting for my goodnight kiss.”
She laughed at the demand, and instead of being miffed he felt a sense of pride at the delight on her face. “Go put on a shirt first. I don’t know what kind of woman you take me for.”
He pretended to consider her concern. “Oh? That didn’t seem to stop you the other night.” In his mind’s eye he replayed the way she had climbed into his lap, could almost feel the satin hem slide beneath his fingers as he had gripped her thighs to pull her closer.
She blushed again – did he mention that red was his new favorite color? “Not fair,” she repeated.
“No,” he agreed. He suddenly felt every mile of the physical distance that lay between them. “It’s not fair.”

“Sir—”
“Get out.”
“But sir—”
“I told you, no interruptions!”
“Too late,” growled an unfamiliar voice.
The man at the desk looked up and was startled to find none other than Raghav Rao entering his office. His secretary beat a hasty retreat, leaving him alone with the visibly enraged man. He plastered on a fake smile.“Mr. Rao, to what do I owe this pleasant surprise?”
Raghav very deliberately stalked over to the desk and leaned over the slender man in the ill-fitting suit, using his physical stature to his full advantage. “Nothing pleasant about it,” he said, dispensing with the niceties. “You’re going to tell me what I want to know.”
The facade quickly turned into a sneer. “You’re very far from home, you know. You have no power here.”
A slow, predatory smile crept onto Raghav’s face. “I have more than enough to deal with the likes of you.”
________
Pallavi knocked on the door of the study. “Farhad? I brought you some tea.”
Farhad, lost in thought, looked up in surprise and suddenly shuffled his papers out of sight. In his haste, a single sheet floated to the floor and landed by her feet. Pallavi set the tray down and picked up the paper, recognizing the official state registration form for new companies. “Vimil Enterprises?”
“Bhabhi, thanks.” he almost snatched the form back from her.“ Just doing some research for Anna.”
“On a textile company?” She leaned over the desk, her curiosity piqued. “And this one, Sharmand Petroleum, and this one is a software company – what do any of these have to do with Raghav’s business?”
Farhad waffled, torn between disobeying Raghav’s explicit instructions and his utter inability to lie to his Bhabhi. Pallavi took pity on him, realizing that the only person who could really answer her questions was currently out of the country. “So you heard from Raghav recently?” she asked, changing the subject.
Farhad nodded. “It sounded like he’s almost finished with his business there. I’m ready to book Anna’s return trip as soon as he says so.”
The week had been a long one, and though this…thing between them was relatively new, she felt a sense of restlessness she couldn’t explain. There was an emptiness in the house without him, and she was surprised to find how quickly she had become accustomed to his presence in her day – scolding him for filling up on his protein shake at breakfast, his wink as he mollified her with a few bites of her poha, admiring his attention to detail as he diligently inspected their showrooms, smiling secretly as he tapped his long fingers against the steering wheel when she played her favorite Hindi songs in the car.
Despite the circumstances of their marriage, he had never once attempted to take advantage of her situation. He had earned her trust, she realized, and it was this sense of security that had allowed her to act on her growing attraction to him. He was patient with her curiosity and generous with his appreciation, taking pleasure in her pleasure and never letting an opportunity pass to make her blush. He made her feel wanted, and now when she applied her sindoor in the mornings it was no longer an empty symbol of an absent husband but a signal to the world that she belonged with someone.
But the intimacy she really craved she found in their quiet moments, when he would look into her eyes and the rest of the world seemed to fade away – the din of traffic, the calls of the street vendors hawking their goods, the relentless heat of the afternoon sun, the hush of the cool night. It was those moments – these glimpses behind his walls – that she treasured, regardless of what the future held.
She placed the folder into the nightstand drawer, unable to make any more sense of the documents than she had earlier that morning. Raghav, she thought, what are you up to?
_________
Raghav hit the light switch as he entered his room, hoping for some relief after yet another late night arrival. His return had been much smoother logistically, but his mind had been occupied with incessant questions ever since he had gotten the answer he was so desperately seeking. If it was true, how would he, no, how could he tell her – he stopped short at the scene in front of him.
There lay Pallavi fast asleep. Not in her own room but in his bed, her long limbs tangled in his sheets. The sight stirred something in his soul, and when he finally slipped in behind her, the sweet solace of sleep was quick to follow.

My Sunday morning's made😎 & Thanks for the Tag ❤️
Loved loved the chapter🤗
The fact that they're missing each other when Raghav's on so-called business trip, that Pallavi understood when Raghav & Farhad decide to keep her out of loop on few things.
Then I also like how Pallavi's slowly come to understand how this Marriage feels more her home now. Can't wait to read what Raghav found out but I do not want this SS to end too😳
Loved the updates...interesting.....is Mandar in picture now...and Raghav has found out about him
This is amazing.
I can't wait for the next part
