Nice contest and good questions. Some of those I could answer instantly but I need to think on some.

What a period 50s & 60s was for bollywood really. It was really a golden era. If you look at the films after that era, you can surely see quality getting decreased rapidly.

I feel closest we came to golden era and in some cases equaled with it was between late 90s to late 2000s where we did see film on different topics and competing with world cinema. Sadly it got derailed again and we are again now stuck between formula films where films now show same small town comedy type films.
