Thank you all beautiful and strong ladies for pouring your hearts out🤗❤️

I can't even imagine what you all have gone through or are going through. I'm much younger to you all and haven't even experienced things as much as you all. But whatever little I've seen, I've come to know that relatives have got noses just to poke in other people's businesses. They can neither see you happy nor unhappy. You do them all good or all bad, they'll still find problems in you. So never give a damn about them. YOUR LIFE YOUR RULES.

I know fertility is a very sensitive issue, being suffering from PCOD myself for years now, I do get told by a lot of people around me to lose weight so that you don't have problems conceiving in the future.. no care about my health but for the conceiving part only, as if I'm just born to do that.

I can't even imagine what you must be going through Nups and Piu🤗 Big hug and a lot of strength to you ❤️

Prema, your story is so inspiring and beautiful.. I know it is so now, but at that time it must have been a lot to go through. And I'm so glad that you came out of it as a warrior. God bless your family.❤️

My own parents got married very late. My mother was 38 and father 40, when they got married. It was my mother's first marriage and my father's second. He had a "son" from his first marriage, but due to some strained issues in the marriage, they divorced. He never met them, including his son, after getting divorced. He started his new life with my mother with all his heart. Conceiving at 38, was obviously an issue for my mother, but 2 years later they had me. And due to some complications, the doctor told her that she won't be able to conceive again. My father had no problems with it, but some people did and till date have, as I was a "girl".

My father never discriminated or thought of me any less, for not being a particular gender. He always let me have my way and fulfil all my desires. He never ever even mentioned to me about his son or past life, until few months before he passed away... when that son appeared out of nowhere after 30 years to demand a share in his property. And, my father just couldn't help but hate for it afterwards.

My grandmother loved me a lot too, but she sometimes used to have a taunting undertone for my mother that she's given birth only to one child and that too a daughter.

My father was terminally ill for about past 7 years, underwent 3 major surgeries during this time. My mother and I single handedly have took care of him all this while.. all my relatives including his real brothers and sister used to come as guests and go, just for formality sake, nobody was of any real help if I may say so! Having done all of that alone, from the age of 18, my relatives still have the audacity to say "ladki hai, kya kya karegi" and still be of no help at all.

when my dad passed away, and it was time to decide that who'd do the cremation, yeah they had to decide that, I was asked by a cousin of my father as whom do I want to do it.. I without any single thought said that I want to do it. When he has brought me up without any thought that whether I'm a girl or boy, then at this point also I have the whole right to do it.

My "so called family members" still had problems with it as some sin would ensue on them if a girl did it. But I did it anyway.

Since then, most of them have not even come to ur house after all the rituals got over, it's been 4 months. Just some formality phone calls every now and then to check up on mom n me. And even some complaints that we don't call them.. I told you, whatever you do or not do they will find problems.

It's not easy but we are doing fine while dealing with a lot of issues... So lead your lives the way you want to because people will have issues anyway.

I think I wrote too much while crying in between.😆

Maahi I'm all up for the alternate YKB platform 🤗🤗

Lots of love and strength to you all❤❤❤

sakshi🤗

strength and only strength for you🤗

lots of love jaan❤️

You guys are some strong women and loved reading each of your stories. It goes onto show that irrespective of where we stay, nosy relatives issue is omnipresent.

I get asked about my marriage all the time as I approach 30, and nonstop comments (especially from relatives in India and those here from older generation subtly sliding it in) on how I should learn to compromise/settle, the clock's ticking, etc. Lately, I have gotten to the stage where I openly tell them that if I want to have kids, I don't need to be married, and I am a perfectly happy being single. And on topic of what the society says, I have told these nosy people indirectly that society doesn't pay for my bills, I do. So I do as I please, and this society has no say in how I should lead my life. Thankfully, it has minimized those questions coming directly at me (and goes to my mom) and has kept my parents at bay from bringing it up to me. And I am very fortunate to have a dad who cares rats ass about what the society thinks.

On topic of fertility, I never understood the society's obsession with another women's reproductive system. It doesn't matter if it's Indian or American. My friends from both sets of cultures face this issue. You'd think that being a woman, one woman would understand another woman's pain and understand her stand point. What's the point of constantly asking someone of the "good news". If a woman wanted to have a kid, she would have. It's her choice. If she wanted it and she doesn't have it, there are constraints. There's no need for anyone to prod in whatever those constraints maybe. It could be physical, it could be emotional, or it could be financial. If the said person hasn't opened up that conversation with you, be respectful of her choice and her right to keep her personal matters personal. The bottom line of this is that it's her matter, not yours. So keep your nose out of it. ("You" being generic) And I just can't understand what part of this do people not understand?!

And the sad part is these nosy relatives don't get a hint. Hint of people subtly telling them to stay away, hint of following others who mind their own business, and (non) hint, but direct messagmind minding their own business when it comes to fertility.

More strength and power to you guys for dealing it with the way you have!

Brilliant post ML!!🤗❤️ Thank you for sharing your experience with us!! I can totally understand your situation. Its the relatives who are a nuisance. Your parents always understand you. But there are times when the relatives influence so much that the parents sometimes have to give in to societal pressure. I am glad your father is chilled out and he supports you always! And yes, clock is ticking, you are too old to get married, you won’t find a good guy, do this, do that itna saara free ka advice dete hai relatives. And women are always at the receiving end! Always! I feel relatives should just back off! Its our life our rules. They should learn to mind their own business! Agar itna dhyan khudke life me dete toh aaj kaha se kaha pohoch jaate wo log😆

Love you ML! ❤️🤗And always do what your heart desires! We only live once, so we should fully enjoy life! ❤️🤗

Love you too Nups🤗

I can make list of comments that come by. "What are you exactly looking for? If he has 50% of what you are looking for, it should be good enough. I know so and so and think would be perfect for you (those who barely know me and the guy would all the qualities I don't want) you should go out more, have you registered in any online websites?, oh they have this matrimony convention that you must go to, I have a friend who has their neighbor, blah blah, and their son lives in US. Do you want me to tell them you're interested"

Give me a break! I put them on mute in my head and move away from that convo asap.

Exactly! Things will happen whenever it's meant to happen. Till then enjoy and treasure our present! 🤗

I had an idea and since I am not getting any sleep without writing it down, here it goes.

Krish was coming home from college thankful that it was over- he could go home and use his phone lying down. As he entered, he was a little surprised to see both Raavi and Rishita sitting cross legged in the aangan intent on their phones and giving exclamations of joy or frustration. On moving closer, Krish world shifted- both his bhabis were playing Clash of clans; it was his favorite game; how come he didn't know this?

On seeing Krish, Raavi greeted him and went to get some food and water for him. Krish and Rishita were present together ;Krish was too excited and started asking Rishita when she started playing. The conversation flowed though Rishita remained curt. When Raavi came back she joined in too making the discussion more lively and less awkward.

Raavi felt this was a great opportunity to break the ice between Rishita and Krish. She suggested that they should have a movie night sometime. Rishita was excited- last time she had a movie night was ages ago with Kirti. She asked what genre they wanted - she will choose the movie. Raavi replied horror at which Krish started laughing. He reminded Raavi how many times she had lost bets with Shiva that she would not be afraid while watching it. She would be afraid not only in duration of movie but also for several days she would be jumpy. He had been partner to Shiva in enough of those pranks to know. Rishita said harshly whether it was their favorite past time to play bhoot pranks on girls.

Krish became a bit forlorn but apologized to Rishita again. He said that blame should be given to Raavi as well. She always laughed over these pranks when she came to know; she bickered with Shiva yet she never actually scolded. He had never thought that Rishita would get a panic attack- they had done this to Raavi many times and she bounced back easily maybe she somehow suspected at the back of mind that it would be them. Sorry Rishita Bhabi for the bathroom event also- he did not do it intentionally and it would never happen again.

Rishita asked how he can be sure. Krish said he has saved money of this month - all that he got from his brothers and he would use it to change the bathroom door. He cannot build a bathroom but he can do this much for both of them- Raavi must have faced problems too. Raavi sidehugged him saying that he has grown up and telling Rishita that this is the first time Krish using his money for somebody else. Even for gifts he would get extra money from Gaumbi. Rishita looked on emotionally then sidehugged him from the other side saying thank you.
