So here I go!

I caught up with the show in the last 2 weeks (It was through Twitter that the show first caught my attention)

What I loved the most about the show in the initial days was Pallavi’s sheer commitment towards her work, her saree shop. Of all the Hindi TV serials I have followed, this was probably the longest time attributed to a woman’s work-life, her ambitions. Pallavi’s purposefulness was so refreshing to see. It was also quite inspiring how she kept meeting disappointments but yet never stopped putting efforts.

One dialogue of Sulochana in this regard holds so true – “Mahalaxmi ki kasam yeh ladki haar nahin maanti”

Coming to Pallavi and Raghav’s equation, it was such a woot that Pallavi always managed to leave Raghav stumped with her savage responses. (If I remember it correctly, she once called him “bina saambhar ki idli” 🤣)

Just when I felt that things have gone too far and I would probably not be able to follow further (this was after seeing how Raghav threatened Pallavi by kidnapping her ) the way Pallavi regained her confidence and started giving it back to Raghav, brick for a brick was amazing to see. It was now a level playing field, Raghav could no longer intimidate her in a way he wanted to. In fact, he himself could not help but marvel at her daring attitude and tenacity.

I feel much as Raghav was making things difficult for her, Pallavi was still feeling drawn towards him. She grew comfortable in his company very soon and this could be seen in the smallest of gestures – like how she would not hesitate in holding his hand, would keep going to his house at one pretext or another (at times the reasons were legit, at times the visits I feel could have been avoidable - for instance when she needed to prepare sarees for competition.)

She would also fight with him and taunt him in a rather affectionate manner at times.

Back in those days, even when Raghav tried to do something right, it felt wrong to her. It was as though she was rather angry at herself for not being able to appreciate his help (or so do I feel)

The way Raghav sought revenge from Pallavi was unforgiveable. It ripped my heart into pieces to see what that defamation did to Pallavi, yet with all her might she picked herself up, to be there for her family in the time of need.

If until that point the makers hadn’t given viewers reasons to believe that Raghav is a better person than this it would have been impossible to root for Raghav and Pallavi.

The defamation and Pallavi’s subsequent ousting from the family also revealed this ugly facet that for Vijay, Pallavi held importance only for so long as she enhanced his prestige. He was ready to forget that he loved her as a daughter lest she brought shame to the name of his family.

It was a relief to see that unlike the earlier controversy when Raghav was accused of taking undue advantage of a girl (and he thought it was Pallavi who framed him) this time around Raghav did get to learn the truth. Perhaps learning that Pallavi was innocent after all, only reconfirmed what he already knew but did not want to accept because of their “hate relationship” at that time.

The journey that has unfolded thereafter has been quite a ride. Pallavi has become the center of Raghav’s universe. She’s like an anchor that gives direction to his life and he’s like a home to which she feels a sense of belonging (something that she always craved for)

The thoughts about what all has transpired between them after marriage merits a deeper thought and a separate post so I shall leave it for another day. 😃

As for my favourite moments of them so far now, the one that comes instantly to my mind is when Raghav ends up putting gulaal on Pallavi’s face on Holi. As she picks an inhibited Amruta up, starts walking away…she can’t help but keep turning to look at Raghav Shivangi was so beautifully expressive with her eyes in that scene Perfectly capturing how Pallavi felt drawn towards Mr. Ghamandi Rao.

Another favourite moment was when Raghav blushed hearing Krishna tease Pallavi about her Pati 🤣

I’m liking this director. Seems to know what works for the show. Hope he continues to do good magic. The only nightmare for me is Sunki. I just can’t seem to watch their scenes anymore, have lost my patience on that. FF is the only way out.
