Farhad really and genuinely has a very pure heart, he does want everyone to be happy regardless of what is happening.. sigh

Roma is just a stranger, and feeling for her state is really a good and selfless deed.

In my theory, I can only say that he feels worthless and useless, like could never make his abba happy, and then Mahi also called him useless with out money and power and status, so in his head he thinks that 'what is the use of having love and affection, insaan ki pehchan degree and paise se hoti hai, so in those standards he is not capable at all, so he thinks he is a loser and badtar'

I cannot believe the man who was so proud of himself is saying he is badtar, naraaz hai apne aap se shayad, his delusion and blind worship led him to this, may be he thinks that had he not be so confident and deluded about Mahi, he would be in a better place.

And first love is always sensitive yaar, the kind of humiliation he got, it indeed leads to a lifelong depression, and he got used, he was told that he was a 'silly mazak', after knowing all this, it is difficult to even process that 'why me'? he must me asking that 'why did she choose me as a silly joker or mazak, am i that worthless'?
