Just look at his eyes and his body language, how close he sat to Pallavi and paid attention to her words and expressions, you'll see all his emotions and exactly how he feels. He feels for her and the closing shot tells you how affected he is when she says her past wont affect their present and future.

Yes there was a spark in his eyes. Also if someone watches it very closely they can see there was a little thumb movement from his side after she assured that her past won't affect them anymore.
