Killing 2 birds with one stone. Depriving Dev and making Raavi see her stupidity and preventing her from taking such actions to get her way. She could have easily talked to anyone.

I'm guessing he plans on keeping up with this charade until the marriage day where somehow on the mandap, she'll find out that she's actually getting married to Shiva.
