In the OG there is no diary. Kathir overhears Mullai and Kanna (Krish here) talk about love, how she felt before and what she feelisnow. He listens to only half of their conversation where she talks about what she felt about Jeeva (Dev here) and misunderstands and ends up drinking, goes back into his shell and starts to push her away. Mullai does not understand this change in him, goes to her Maykka for few days.

But one thing though, Mullai’s feelings were expressed beautifully with various monologues and showed how she also fell for him. When the MU happens Mullai was starting to connect to him emotionally.

Here we all know that Raavi is mot emotionally connected to him yet.

I am not being able to like Devs character because he never really gets reprimanded for his mistakes.

Nobody said anything to him post marriage. no guilt, no proper apology.shiva did burst out at him in the bus but then everyone just repressed it.

I know this has been discussed many times in the forum but the portrayal of Dev as Mr goody two shoes in the show irks me sometimes.🤕

@bold, Hmm... so I had the same doubt. Hope the CVs do something reasonable, but to justify (playing Devil's advocate here) Shiva feeling sad for a pre-marriage entry... maybe reading that entry "grounded" him. He's had his head in the clouds where just being with Raavi brings him happiness. He might've forgotten their past, but the diary entry probably brought him to reality.

Another theory is that there is more to the diary entry than "RAAVI loves DEV." Maybe Raavi wrote about how "handsome, educated, talented" Dev is and how Shiva is the exact opposite. She did say she wrote about Shiva briefly once, and perhaps this is the diary entry where Shiva makes an appearance.

Her writing about Dev after marriage (especially a "RAAVI loves DEV" message is to 😕 for me)
