No, there was a slight prolonged self musing scene! It was very subtle but it was there.

he was stuck in the middle of a series of kaands, and simply could not have thought of this

I def think it was more than a “wow why didn’t I think of this.” His look after the conversation had something more to it. Even his laugh reminded me of the one where he was called a naukar and laughed it off. I have to rewatch this scene again.
