I’d like to disagree here. I would agree with every stupidity Shiva does, but Raavi is subconsciously essential to him. He has never passed away the responsibility of her Haq as a Pandya Bahu. He was the most affected by her death attempt.

Shiva is hideous when he equated Raavi with the Kangan, but she is important too. He might not be vocal, but many times, he has proved otherwise.

He doesn't respect her- agreed. He was pathetic, agreed, but she isn't someone who’s merely his responsibility.

But then he contradicts his own statements! If he was so affected that why, why did he do that? Why did he say that he shouldn't have saved her on the stairs and let her break some bones? He shouldn't have used her as a bargaining chip! He's acting like a pendulum, never stable at a particular statement.

Whatever he said, he did because of those bangles, it just makes all the previous things look meaningless.

He doesn't need to be vocal, the way he treats her, holds her aggressively, just shows how much he cares.

Raavi’s dialogue to Dhara on haldi day is still echoing in my ears, “ woh mujhe izzat karega, aur pyaar bhi, mein usse karwake rahungi”

Raavi laid the foundation for that today❤️

He thought about what Raavi said, while he was sitting on the tree😃

Dude! Just think about it, on one side you have a woman, a mother who has raised you like her own, loved you, and cared for you. She is evil towards others but for you, she cares. And on the other side, you have the husband, who treats you harshly, is rude to you almost all the time, pushes you to the wall, holds you aggressively, manhandles you, and then uses you like a freaking bargaining chip. Who will you choose?

Whom will anybody else choose?

It doesn't matter who is evil and who is good. It is human nature to deviate towards the person who loves you. Maami doesn't love her more than her greed, I can see that. But she still cares for her more than Shiva does, and she actually shows it. Maami shows that she loves and cares for her but Shiva shows his anger. He makes her think that they can have a nice future only to crash all her hopes the next instant.

It is obvious that for Raavi, Maami comes first and Shiva is secondary.

The Difference between Dhara & Suman

No matter how obnoxious are Suman’s patriarchal ways and thoughts but one thing Suman does very well is ripping the band-aid off and letting it bleed. Percolating the toxins out of wounds accelerates healing while Dhara always tries to calm and volcano by throwing water on it. Result: steam and more pressure!

In short, Dhara’s approach is never addressing any real issue but tackling the problem by only focussing on moving on! Today, Suman didn't say a word between Shiva and Raavi while they left for fighting! Dhara, on the other hand, reprimanded them for their Bachmann. A true mother doesn't tether children but lets them grow.

I wouldn't say I like her thoughts, but I sometimes feel she speaks better.

I loved suman today ❤️

She didn't force shiva to take raavi, she didn't force raavi to go with them.she understood both of them, and she allows them to find their own way. Dhara on the other hand rebukes them, wants them to leave their zidd and just move on.

Dhara and suman are two contrasting personalities, both of them care and love their family, but their approach is soo different.

You have explained it beautifully.

Suman lets the wounds bleed and dhara tries to calm the volcano by putting water on it.👏👏👏

Shiva gets extraordinarily vulnerable and helpless when he isn't able to save his family members from pain. It's a sheer feeling of helplessness he experienced every time he wasn't there to protect his family. Be it his father’s death along with Maami’s Kangan or inability to save Dhara from taunts to the helplessness of letting Maami’s family back again into their peaceful world-Shiva goes upset at his weakness.

Let's take a time travel and go back to a scene where Dev tries to lift sacks to experience Gaumbi’s pain. Shiva rushes and takes one for the team, saying: Tujhse Nahi Uthega,” I will pick it up. He goes beyond his human capacity to live that sacks supported by his brothers. He is like that only.

There's NOTHING in this world that can justify what he did to Raavi today! He is wrong, and he will realise it soon.

He is always like a shield for his family, all i could see today was a helpless and broken man who regrets not being able to give his mother his father's last gift.

He could have let it go, but prafulla's constant reminder and provocation didn't help.

What he did with raavi is wrong, and deep down he knows it.he has hurt her. I would wait for the upcoming episodes to be more clear about his thoughts.

Not going to lie, this contradictory behavior Shiva exhibits is off-putting. He makes grand gestures sometimes, like pulls her hair back in her sleep, rushes to save her when she is falling from the steps, or holds her hand. But then, the following day he makes statements as if progression never happened in the first place. He continues to hold her aggressively and says statements he definitely should not be saying. This quite honestly turned me off from the show (hence my one week break), but now that I've had time to process it all, I realized that change doesn't happen overnight.

As frustrating as Shiva can be, he is making small steps. During the wedding episode, he didn't even want to hold Raavi's hand. But now, he's getting to the stage where he is protecting her, holding her hand, and revealing his inner secrets. Yes, for every step he takes, he does something that causes him to go back a couple of steps, but overall, I think there has been a large amount of progress in him.

Now that I've had the time to think things through, I personally think seeing pendulum Shiva is better. It is more realistic. If he changed overnight (like Rishita did), we would all be skeptical and speechless--even Raavi wouldn't believe him. But we're noticing the subtle changes, from the way he looks at her to the way he acts when she is in danger.

Shiva’s thought tree has become a memory of Raavi today! He usually thought about Suman, Gaumbi and Kangan earlier, but today it was Raavi! She matters to him; her words matter, her words too.

Farq Nahi Padta is probably just a reminder to tell himself more than others. Itna Farq padta hai ki his thought tree perching had him thinking and crying there. Her words were the only memories he had during his most vulnerable and private moment.

I think this is the first time his flashbacks were of raavi.

It was always about his childhood trauma, his family. Even after their wedding, while throwing pebbles in the angan he wasn't thinking about raavi, he was having flashbacks of his happy family and how it had a crack now.

For the first time he is thinking about her words to him, his plan failed, his family rebuked him but his thoughts were preoccupied by her.this is a huge progression...I hope we get more monologues of shiva in the upcoming episodes ❤️
