Definitely the best way, and mostly I try to be the same as you. Get attached to characters, but not to the actors. They will always find a way to disappoint. They are only human after all.
I think Sharbhi were the first time after a long period where I got attached with the actors as well. Despite it all though I think my attachment with them is primarily based on their interactions with each other. Vani - Sharbhi etc. Despite following Rips and others, I don't necessarily "care" about the other aspects of their lives that much. So while this is annoying and irritating, it's mostly on the level of "this is going to mean less chance of Sharbhi together again" rather than because I'm super attached to either of them.

Everything you said. Especially the bit about the fans deserving it. We know the fans are wrong and should probably be called out. But this.. wasnt it. Silence would have achieved so much better than this ever will. Plus, this is a lot different than a sassy comment here and there.

NarBhi did not only seem like really great buddies... but they had all those triple meaning jokes. So I can see how those section of fans could have totally turned it around to seem like that. But yeah, if you look at it that way, you do compare how Jankee dealt with it in comparison with Ripci. At least puclicly.

In my case I still get attach with characters and actors as well. But luckily level of attachment get decrease with time.
Like in SharBhi Vani's case i was so much attached with them. But I would not deny that now I am not that much crazy for them. Yeah i still like it but now That attachment is not same.
I was just recently reading on Karan-Divyanka being approached for BALH2 ... and thought that perhaps there was hope.
While we are at this, I dont think I mentioned me thinkingg about just whyyy Chandu did not comment or post anything on the trailer or teasers of Sharad's production venture. Missed SharBhi moment(s). *sigh* Thought I'd get it out 😆

Like it wasn't slowly slowly you lost touch and all. And kabhi kabhi ek post dikha toh like kr diya..naa bass full stop.
