Brands across categories are riding on the rainbow euphoria as June is observed as Pride Month globally, a movement that brings the entire LGBTQIA+ community together to spread the message of equality.
Rainbow coloured brand logos and hashtags took over platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as brands latched on to celebrate Pride Month.

It all ends on June 30th and begin next year on June 1. They're only after our money and would gladly fund anti-gay campaigns.

Why are human beings are so cruel to each other, esp towards LGBTQ community😭? And how do we justify acts of sheer inhumanity?
The conventional explanation is that people are able to do terrible things to other people only after having dehumanized them. Why the modern world is still reeling under this moral policing and trying to impose their own inhibitions and uncultured ways on fellow humans, who has given them the right to treat fellow humans as objects without the right to freedom, dignity, or even life itself? 😭
What does that say about us, about our psychology, about our susceptibility to this kind of violence?
So cruelty isn’t an accident or an aberration, but something central to who and what we are? Respect the rights of others, live your life peacefully and if possible help others. ❤️

We have just normalised cruelty and abuse to such an extent that it doesn't even bother people.. be it media or real life.. 🥺 it breaks my heart everytime someone doesn't even do the bare minimum of treating anyone who's not like them as a human. It doesn't even take that much effort, it's easy but sorry that you weren't raised right. That's all I think of. 😭
So my daughter told me something today when I was talking about this initiative on IF with her.
She said that they are doing Pride Month at her school and to commemorate it, the school puts up LGBTQ + related stuff on the bulletin board. Apparently, parents have been complaining to the school staff about it, and saying it's a waste of useful space and how it goes against their beliefs! 🤬 Some of them were even accusing the school of leading the kids astray by educating them about such stuff! And this is in the 21st century and in a first-world, liberal country like Canada!
A few of her classmates were complaining about why there was a need for a whole month for Pride! They say it's too excessive! 😡
A classmate of hers who came out as bi is struggling for acceptance from her own parents who she says are 'homophobic'. 😭
A lot of her classmates are 'homophobic' citing religious reasons, saying it goes against their beliefs! 😭
She was so angry and upset at this, and she asked why was it so hard for people to accept other people just because they're different from the so-called 'norm'.
It made me sad and angry to hear this, but at the same time, I feel proud that my kid isn't among them. It's people like her who will help change the world for the better! ❤️

TBH when in the sheep game everyone said "Canada" as the most accepting country I literally rolled my eyes, because it's not, it is racist and homophobic. On paper, Yes. In reality.. you know better.
Scandinavian countries definitely do better in these contexts, Europe.. somewhat better... Rest all... We'll probably need another century or two. *Fingers crossed*
