FINALLY.
Suman said everything I wanted someone to say to both Dhara & Gaumbi.
Especially highlighting the brutality of what Dhara did - everyone up until now kept glossing that over, as if that level of physical punishment was ok. We all know they live in a society / culture where a slap or another form of low physical punishment is common. Despite how we feel about, it's normal for them. But I love that Suman actually pointed out how it was "janwaar" like - Dhara took it too far. I think Dev even said that Dhara has never beaten them like that before ( he was blaming Rishita for causing it).
Secondly, I love how Suman grilled Gaumbi. Finally it was said. I get Dev, Shiva,Krish consider Dhara as a mother, but they still had Suman. They don't even have their father anymore which would make you think that Gaumbi took extra care in raising them like a father /being a father figure in the past 10 years. And maybe this is why I always get the vibe that the others still view him as just the older brother, because seems as if Gaumbi kind of failed in that regard of really being a father to them. Fathers protect their children, he couldn't even do that in this situation. And while we all know Dev, Shiva, Krish would never fault him, I'm glad Suman did. He really missed the mark here.
Thirdly, I think the comment that Suman made of Dhara not being a mother was not a taunt but a statement to make her realize that Dhara doesn't fully understand motherhood yet. I've said this in other comments before, someone who is truly a mother (biological or adoptive) and truly in their right mind (I don't think Dhara is), would never give their kids that level of punishment especially over what they did. Dhara acts more like their police than their mother, but she thinks she's acting like a mother would. She has the wrong idea of motherhood, possibly due to the fact that she never had a mother either. She thinks that she needs to make her children perfect and that she must be the one to punish the "kids" but doesn't realize her kids are now young adults and can be spoken to and reasoned with.
Also I think the whole point of Suman's statement of Dhara not having kids was to make Dhara & Gaumbi understand how Suman felt. Suman carried these children for 9 months, went through hours of countless labor for them, cared for them as an infant up until she was paralyzed. Yes, Dhara was able to help parent the kids, but before that? Suman was there from the beginning. Sometimes the way Dhara acts, she forgets that Suman is their still present (because I'm not trying to knock adoptive mothers) mother and their first mother. Dhara coming in and helping the past 10 years doesn't mean she can ignore that Suman was and still is their mother. She never once considered how Suman would feel, she was only scared of how Suman would punish her. Yes Suman gives Dhara the status of Bhabhimaa, but that doesn't mean she can do anything to D/S/K. I personally think that's wrong. She's still not their only mother, especially considering that Suman is around. Yeah Suman wasn't present for that situation, but she could've waited. They're just, if not more, scared of Suman.
