Disclaimer: I watched few episodes of KD after all the anxiousness bubbling in the forum and to relieve my own stress as well 😜. So my observations here could be wrong.

Not sure if it was a good idea or not. Anyway, I watched it long time ago but it has only added my stress thinking about it at the moment 🤣🤣

Kusum Dola is a beautiful story of two people who married under unfortunate circumstances, fall in love madly over time but still face issues in their marriage because of their inability to understand each other. Later, I saw the synopsis of the show and it says the same. ‘.... who eventually fall in love but unable to handle the marital discord...’

There was always an important element lacking in their relationship which is trust, respect and transparency.

I glanced the episodes from the present scenario and from the background given by some of the forum members here, I could understand who is who :) I did not watch after fake pregnancy track due to sensory overload and RKs disgusting character. However I watched couple of scenes and read synopsis.

They are all very different from Ghum, so I am not sure how it can be related to Ghum. Storyline is almost the same, characters are a little different which is also butchered now. One major difference other than the characterisation of the leads is that Rono was strict with RK and Ghum makers have decided to spoil one most important good thing that was in in KD.

without understanding any bit of the dialogues, what I observed is 😬

😲

1. Rono is not very romantic but a person with high sense of duty. He looks like a no nonsense guy in family matters. If not for sai, he is someone who could go unnoticed in the family 😜. He could not confess his love because he was put under uncertain situations by emon every single time. I see that till confession he is always clear of his feelings for emon. But he sees uncertainty from emon side. So he keeps postponing or RK makes it difficult. Also, He craves attention from her.

Virat is more or less the same but it is not due to Emon that he couldn’t confess, he lacks confidence, he is an insecured guy and also wallows in self pity.

2. Emon is very temperamental and impulsive. She actually stretches Rono’s patience to extreme levels till he breaks and utters some nonsense. She catches that nonsense and pushes him away. She forgets all his actions before... I think this will be her problem throughout. She wants only words from him.

She is impulsive but is also actually sensitive like Rono. Her character is such that she doesn’t show out her hurt the way Rono does and shows it only by pushing away Rono. She doesn’t forget his actions, has gratitude throughout but Rono and RK’s relationship always tests her patience and Rono always stands mum rather than clarifying the right way. Keeps getting played or manipulated by RK even after the ousting, doubts Emon. I would only say since you said that you have just watched the scenes that a person who always cries or looks hurt is not a victim and a person who looks rude and harsh is not wrong. People can act differently when they are hurt and all need not react the same way. People who make mistakes can also act victims and Rono always wallows in self pity or gets drowned in misery due to his own insecurity. He lacks confidence and trust in his own love. Both are wrong.

3. I found RK more annoying sorry. She is not going away guys. She is going to make hell out of these two peoples lives. It is going to go only downhill. She is vile woman. Be prepared. These two keep falling for her traps because of their own trust issues. Rono blames himself but emon brings up their past(typical wife)🙄 Sai especially is going to have severe insecurity for this guy that she keeps pushing him even after the baby (I think.?!)

The baby part, let’s leave it because there will be another girl in Rono’s life, even if it means only a responsibility. Why should this guy keep having women around him as per the author . I won’t blame Emon if he acts like a jerk.

4. Sunny and mohit are very important in the story till confession and so is samrat later in their lives. Sunny is going to play an important role after he also knows about RKs intentions. The sunny guy in KD is also his cousin, and he is a sensible guy unlike a joker like sunny . Rono values him a lot. Hope they show something like that. I sensed deep bond between the two.

I am going to miss Anirban, not sure how they will be filling Sunny here since he is not any bua’s son. May be Sunny is an illegitimate son of someone from Bhavani’s family?

So there are so many awesome twist and turns before they become one. But I had a very good feeling watching the progression there. In fact here they made virat so soft and romantic that we feel the urgency for confession ( atleast me), but in KD you feel the guy is seriously stuck, more because Of emons actions.

I am sorry, I am not sure how did you get an impression that it only due to Emon’s actions 😲

I am dying to wait for these two scenes

1. The entire suicide track of emon and her hospitalization, rono doesn’t shed a tear. You can see his worry and guilt. He convinces emon why he misunderstood but not a tear... later in their room in between thier conversation, he breaks down!!! OMG it was heart wrenching and you could feel his pain!!! Virat has already cried loads not sure how they bring this about. With rono, the impact was directly on the heart 😩


2. When he hears emons conversation with badshah about their marriage deal and him standing outside silently breaking down ... 😢. He gets fever out of the heartbreak literally. And the whole phase of him distancing himself and emons worry is well played out. Can’t wait !!

These two are epic for me! But the build up to these are also very nice. I don’t know how much they will be able to build up here in Hindi for these two break downs. Virat is already wearing his emotions on the sleeves.

points I did not like and hopefully changed.

1. the leaving house by both kind of gets repetitive

2. Sruthi track seems lot of misunderstandings but shows ronos sense of duty and his adherence to it to the point of fault.

3. Sai’s insecurities even after consummation and a baby! No progression there :( I think in later episodes, she holds off virat physically also. There are episodes when they are intimate like regular couple but there is one episode where I saw she pushes him away when he tried to kiss her. She takes the baby away also from the farther. 😳 May be she will have reasons but depriving him of fatherly love is not good.

Only if there is an emotional intimacy and transparency can there be physical intimacy. If Virat is going to stay mum in Shruthi’s track just like how he is now in Pakhi’s case, god save the viewers and Sai.

She takes the baby away after Divorce or because they part ways. He was so lost in another new responsibility that he had pushed Emon away himself, not sure how Emon can be blamed for all of his actions. If anything went wrong, it will only be fair to blame both of them and not just one if not.

Not being there for a wife is okay?

4. Pakhis vileness almost till the end. We don’t have a respite from this lady. Btw sai sets out to reform her life too 🤪

5. No major separation please. No sruthi track for me but if they don’t show the final 3 years separation then I can bear sruthi track. They seem to be too much in love, in spite of their issues so that long separation seems unrealistic .

This is just my guess, I did not watch the episodes of sruthi track but going by synopsis, rono doesn’t get the needed emotional support from sai at some point of time so he gets involved with Sruthis family. He kind of shuts himself and becomes insensitive towards emon just like emon does it now. So they keep going in rounds .

There cannot be any excuse for Rono’s insensitive behavior. If we expect Sai to come clean with Virat before Devi’s wedding, to be transparent with him and then get Devi married, is it not fair that Rono be transparent with Emon too? Rono wanted Emon and after confession, he started to take her and his relationship for granted. A guy who keeps running behind her starts to hide things, starts to act indifferent, starts to show less importance to her, gets involved more in another lady’s life whose responsibility he had taken. Not sure what can be expected from Emon. If you say both were at fault to some extent, I will agree. One makes a mistake and another reacts to it in a wrong way is not needed be it Rono or Emon is what I would say.

Final word: So guys, we are in for an emotional but beautiful love story of two real people. They are not saints but two very good and kind hearted people. They do so much for others that they don’t care of what is happening between them. They raise and fall in their love, does so much for others around them, build trust and also hurt each other, just like any couple growing in a marriage. They are two different people with thier own personalities. I loved the story at-least till confession. Confession is not going to be so soon! Lots of love, heartbreak and angst before that but it is going to be beautiful.

This was why, I was planning to wait till confession. I could watch KD because I am not connected to those characters but watching Ghum is becoming very difficult because I am connected to Sairat. They faltering become a big put off. Anyway, will try to watch and if not, will watch just a few scenes and not follow the show. I am already trying my best to detach from the forum as well. Have a few comments or tags that I need to reply for now. Trying not to write any more new posts or participate in discussions. I realised that only if I detach from the forum can I even detach myself from the show. Will decide based on the upcoming episodes which I will watch only if I can. Not saying bye for now, makes sense only after I have really quit. Anyway around for now.

So let’s wait for the story to unfold.

Thanks Anandita for your lovely comments on several posts which made me see KD. Please correct my views if I am wrong because as I said i did not understand the dialogues a bit and did not watch all episodes.

Exactly, why I didn’t like them to have butchered his character. They have shown him a spineless and someone who is always dependent on Sai and unfortunately or fortunately will be playing an important role on Sai and Virat’s life. In KD, he was bua’s husband, a fatherly figure, could show some power on Rono. Here Virat calls him Pulkit many times, not too younger than Pulkit, have to see how Pulkit deals with Virat.

I don’t want Shruti’s track but would want a guy to be introduced in Sai’S life instead of Virat. We have seen enough of one lady in Virat’a life. I want to see how he would react if he is in the position of Sai after their confession. Atleast before confession Sai was made to believe that Virat has someone else in life and she also lives with her everyday listening to her taunts. Virat’s life must be easier compared to that even if a guy enters Sai’s life because they would have already confessed.

If Virat acts matured, it is a way for Sai to learn how to trust someone. If Virat grows insecured, he will learn how Sai would have felt. I think it would be interesting to watch because both will learn a lot of things. I know, we should start demanding this from the makers. Would be good if they show this. I don’t want a major misunderstanding or separation, I want Sai to realise what Virat would have thought or why he acted in a certain way and I want Virat to think how would have Sai felt. Both of their insecurities can be erased when they start to bond and assure each other. They will pine for each other rather than walking away from each other unlike Shruthi’s track.

Not sure why almost all ML gets something like this 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️. There are very few shows that shows FL having a new guy in her life, it has actually spiced things up because when ML starts to get jealous or insecured, they won’t act like women, they might grow mad but become more expressive, they start to take more liberty, they also become more passionate, can be seen in their fights too as how much it can affect them. We saw in Amat’s track, saw in Aniket’s, would be a treat to watch it in a whole new big track, but it shouldn’t end up in separation.

I was happy that you had mentioned that in the post otherwise I would have got confused 🤣🤣 as how did you think these even after watching it. Both love each other, want each other, stop each other from expressing it due to many reasons/hurdles that come their way and act stupid. Both take each other for granted many times, don’t trust each other too. They need to learn to trust. Main problem is communication and both has to communicate throughout, if not would end up only in disaster.

There are beautiful tracks even during Shruthi’s track, how I wish they show those but without a stupid Shruti. He realises his mistake and takes up a job in the same village as Emon where Emon gets alleged of a crime. He will be seen arresting her and she will misunderstand him. He would later reveal or it would later get revealed that he did it for her own good, he would be the one who would help in proving that she is innocent. They bond again and this Shruthi comes in between again. I think she will have cancer or something and our mahaan Rono would again start helping her without letting Emon know the entire truth. Another misunderstanding 🤦‍♀️. He also has to stop doing social service. If she is doing service inside the house, he keeps doing because of his old habit named waada 🤦‍♀️.

Even that misunderstanding gets resolved and the last one is the worst. Him helping RK after Baadshah’s death. Even if he was loyal, he would go against the entire family’s opinion and would want to help his friend. He would start giving her emotional support, RK will be seen getting too demanding by emotionally tricking him intentionally or unintentionally. Since she has lost Baadshah, she would get insecured 🤷‍♀️. She would actually kind of have an emotional breakdown. What I don’t understand is does she not have parents at all? Why should she lean on Rono? Why should Rono encourage all these? Emon would start to get insecured due to their closeness. Even if he has to take care of her, are there not women in the house who can help him take care of her. Can he give in to all her demands because she is upset? Doesn’t make sense to me. Emon might be wrong in not trusting him but he is no less. He cannot do such things and expect her to understand everything. He will keep extending support to women like this back to back and will expect that she understands saying he is loyal? Even emotional support cannot be extended like this to another woman. Only a girl in Emon’s position would know how it feels. Will he be able to tolerate if she did all of these? He would accuse her when he just notices her with some guy in a cafe for a few minutes 🤦‍♀️. He will not even like when Emon would want to treat Jagtap who would be injured. Jagtap would be repenting and be seen apologising to her and she will sympathise with him later when he was injured, Rono would be against it. How fair is it then that he expects Emon to understand him having Shruthi and Pakhi again and again?

Our virat will show jealousy at extreme levels! But yeah double standard will be there. Lekin jagtap ke liye bhi jealousy?! Yeah it’s kind of disgusting that he stands up for wrong women.

But the conflict point is trust! Which is essential in marriage than love. That’s why they keep struggling.

One thing kd made me prepared is towards pakhis vile plans. I am prepared for the worst 🤨
