This is in reference to other thread where people have been discussing if engagement with Shagun is Real or Not?
Strictly my opinion!
Well, it is clearly more valid than sindoor shaadi as its more open, Shaurya has owned it more publicly than Sindoor.... His whole family knows about it...
No, I don't think he is waiting for Anokhi to accept it whole heartedly.. Let's assume... For once Anokhi tells him tomorrow, she 'accepts' this Shaadi verbally. Will he really go and make public announcement? He is currently just blackmailing her about shouting the name because he is just being funny about whole thing... But let the reality sink in...
He and only he calls this engagement temporary... He has not even communicated this to Shagun, specially if he thinks she is genuine... Doing beizzati does not help... Or clarify... That this is not real...
Sindoor wali shaadi is accepted by two people in their heart and its mutual.. But was it needed? It's just mockery of marriage and sindoor... Sindoor can serve as a way of commitment, assurance and love.. Between two people... But unless it's public.. It stands no validity of marriage...
Tomorrow, by any chance, if Shaurya or Anokhi backs out from believing any of those nonsense happened, would other one have any evidence/proof?
Engagement ring is a proof! Shaurya telling it to Astha and rest of the family members about it is a proof!
Where exactly is a confusion about if engagement is real or Shaadi is real? Or what is more valid?
Go ahead... All up for being trolled and mocked 😆
For me the engagement was not valid because only BM was present and no rituals were followed. In our custom certain rituals are followed for engagement also and it is a social function. I don't know about other customs. I was under the assumption that BM will plan an official engagement for Shasha. But from today's episode I understood that the Saberwal family has taken this ring throwing as formal engagement and are waiting to announce it to everyone.
Sindoor shaadi is not valid. There is no doubt in it. It is not a marriage. I was surprised when Anokhi told Aahir that she is married. But both Anokhi and Shaurya have taken this sindoor shaadi quite seriously. Yes it is not valid and they have no proof but I doubt if either of them will ever back out whatever may be the misunderstandings that they might have.
Shaurya has to tell at least Shagun that he is just waiting for his BM to get well to break the engagement. It is like giving unnecessary hopes to her which is wrong. The minute Anokhi knew that the ACP is interested in her she told about the marriage because she did not want him to have any hopes that someday she might accept.

According to Hindu Marriage law, Saptpadhi( saath phera) is the most important ritual. If Saptpadhi didn't happen then there is no legality of the marriage , again, there should be priest and witness too. Marriage isn't valid or real because it's not even a marriage at the first place. The engagement is definitely real and has more scope in the society as it has witnesses.Shaurya is officially two timing.
😆 even if you follow ITV logic... This 'marriage' was more like a commitment with terms and conditions... Bass they wanted to call it a marriage...

We live in a society and society has to witness our coming together for marriage or engagement to be acceptable. Marriage and engagement both are social institutions. Marriage on top of that is a legal institution. In India it needs to be registered for it to be valid. Two people can be committed to each other for life without getting married and that is absolutely fine. You don't need the stamp of marriage for love or commitment. If it is marriage, it has to be something that has been done legally. When it is legal, society has to accept it. Registered marriages are happening nowadays. My parents generation only had social marriages mostly. Because it happed in the presence of so many people, there was no dearth of witnesses and was not difficult to prove in the court of law for inheritance and other matters.
Also, as far as I know, marriage can be nullified as long as it is not consummated.
I don't have much knowledge about legality of engagement.
As for my view of Shakhi marriage, there was not consent from both sides at the time of marriage. Shaurya did it impulsively. Anokhi accepted it later. That is why I cannot digest it. If Anokhi has accepted herself as Shaurya's wife she should ask for it to get registered. Because even when Shaurya doesn't fulfill her condition, she will not stop thinking herself as being married to him. So why not make it legal. That will be for Anokhi's own security. As I said, as long as they don't consummate, it is null and void. They can easily go for an annulment.
P.S. - I am not a legal expert. So I can be wrong.
We don't need legal expert for ITV 😆
Too much of logic for ITV but as the only reason, usually marriages are hidden in ITV is to either use this as a trump card when forced into marriage with someone else - though without any legal confirmation this would be difficult to route... Or for one of them to refuse under certain circumstances... It could be Anokhi or Shaurya..
I was actually ok with Sindoor shadi as both loved each other and accepting it as marriage. But now come to think of it, Shaurya should not have taken this impulsive step because:
1) he himself is taking that engagement as an engagement even if temporary. Engaged to somebody and married to somebody else at the same time is so wrong.
2) he knows that when Anokhi will know about the engagement, she will be angry and need more time. But instead of telling this important piece of information to her and giving her time, he has other priorities like acting weird in front of her.
3) Now I am finding this marriage as completely baseless. No consent from her side for this marriage prior to it. No full disclosure of information. No witnesses. Instead of making it all correct, he is making it more wrong by celebrating first night, first time entering office etc etc.And now after all this if he does not speak for Anokhi in front of everyone, then his character cannot be redeemed.
Believe me, I did not have issues with Anokhi accepting this stupidity as marriage or anything... But if you had to accept it, why throw such huge dialogues after being smashed with sindoor... And specially when her screaming had absolutely 0 effect on Shaurya... He is still being blissfully ignorant about her feelings... And hence it's not making sense...
Hiding his engagement is somewhere Anokhi's fault.. I would say because she does not listen to him and he has tried it couple of times.. But the fact he thought of being this impulsive while being engaged is infuriating... And on the same day after putting sindoor, he wants to give her the break news is little funny😆 to me...
I still have little hope he will speak up for their 'marriage' to make it public.. Unless he has any other reason as decided by makers.. But whatever be the case... Anokhi will be the only one to suffer again... For the third time..
Engagement /Sindhoor shadi- which is real and valid
Forced ring exchange happend for BM sake, in which one is willing and other is unwilling and is waiting for right time to get out of it. We all know this is temporary, and will not be materialized into wedding. So what's the point of it being valid or real.
Forced sindhoor shadi happened because of impulsive Shaurya who was not willing to lose Anokhi at any cost and could not see Anokhi walking away from him. We know and both Shakhi know that they love each other and are in conflict because of their different soch. Anokhi coming from a conservative middle class family values mang me sindhoor and as she trusts Shaurya's love, is willing to give a chance to this act of shaurya on her terms. We all know this will lead to a social wedding which has validity in the court of law, with all the rasams for us to enjoy.
So these kands from my point of view have no validity whatsoever and are in the story to increase the drama quotient and for us to drool over Shakhi romance we got after the sindhoor shadi.

For me engagement is a ceremony where two people promise each other that they will get married sometime in the future and others get to witness the promise. But when one half of the couple isn't sincere in his promise, It is not exactly real. From a social POV, it may be right, but from emotional perspective, it means nothing.
I also agree than ShaKhi marriage is not proper, but here they have the consent. Anokhi admits that they got married and Shaurya sees her as a wife. Many people in America, UK go for a live-in. They are not legally married but they are emotionally and almost always physically bonded. I know SAAKK is set in India, but in the times where the country is changing, we should also try to be more modern in how we see things.
Second bold: I don't have much knowledge on legal matters, but I believe when you already have a wife and aren't divorced from her, a second marriage is not valid. Well, yes Anokhi should demand a marriage certificate if not a social wedding for her to stay secure.
I will tell you one thing... I have no issues with romantic scenes and live - in is also part of certain sections in India... Consent is all that matters for any romantic relationship..
My whole point is.... What was the need for whole Sindoor thing to happen? Was it needed? It's anyways not formal.. In a way it's mocking its own concept of forced marriage... It's about storyline too!
Eventually, engagement is the only thing that will be considered real and official even from rest of the storyline perspective... And not the sindoor marriage... Because Shaurya has already confirmed to everyone (atleast in family) that ShaSha are engaged... I have little hope he will take stand for this sindoor marriage but sake of BM and drama... But again for taking stand you don't need this sindoor drama...

@Bold - I sincerely hope Shaurya does not... Because of whatever Badi Maa says... Or her health... I am waiting to see if he stands by Anokhi during that time...
Engagement may not have all rituals like shaadi.. But it has someone to convey the message and Shaurya has confirmed it with Astha and everyone else in the family...😆
But for some reason Shaadi and it's reasons are just being taken very lightly by Shaurya!

Shaurya has to stand by Anokhi after all this. If he remains silent when he is supposed to speak up, like on her birthday, for whatever reason, then there will be no point of Shaurya aur Anokhi ki kahani. Anokhi should stay away from his parchayee as well😅
For me the whole sindoor marriage looked forced they made mockery of marriage nothing else they could have easily shown romance without this sindoor drama ... they rushed to this stupid shaadi track just for the sake of trp I guess
