I have very mixed feelings about the episode today. Yes it was amazing and everything was on point but I felt something missing with Shaurya today
Things that stood out to me -
1)Anokhi is not blind, she knows exactly the kind of man she has fallen in love with and the toxic family he has. But she also know he is a good man with a tender heart and he has potential to change. She can't help but love him even when he is being a jerk
2)Strangely she verbalized the same fear today that everyone in Sab family has been verbalizing- she does not want to end up like Astha Sabarwal. It seems to be common knowledge that Astha was mistreated still no one spoke up or is willing to speak up even 25 years later including that excuse of her husband and her son is completely brainwashed...it is unbelievable. More than that I can't believe how painful this would have been for Astha.
3) There was a discussion earlier on this forum that when you forgive easily, the other person does not realize his mistake and takes the forgiveness as granted. Shaurya threw me off the kilter today. He seemed smug and was cracking jokes today. He even gave Anokhi permission to pursue her career. Does he have any clue to what he has started? Was he expecting that Anokhi to prostrate at his feet thanking for him for marrying her and they would set sail for sunset? He is still wearing the engagement ring, he is still not willing to accuse or hurt BM even when he knows she was being unfair to him and even if it means going ahead with engagement. he forced a marriage on love of his life who was wanting to walk away even if it was somewhat unwillingly. He seemed to have no guilt or apprehension at all. His plan seemed to be to bring Anokhi to Sab house and let Devi and Anokhi duke it out since he would have got what he wanted, his wife at close quarters with him. It was a battle where odds would be stacked against Anokhi as no one including Shaurya seems to be capable of denying BM anything. Anokhi was completely fair in losing it and denying the relationship. He needs to understand that this is serious commitment. I am glad that Anokhi is making him work for it. If he would have won Anokhi too easily, he would have never valued her. Don't get me wrong- I understand his pain and his wish. His love for Anokhi is pure and he is frustrated that he has to prove his love again and again to every person in his life . I understand that Anokhi today ripped off the bandage from the scars related to his mother but sometimes that is the only way to heal and find closure. Even after all this he seemed strangely pleased at having bound Anokhi to him and at the sindoor daan. Can't figure out what is going on in that head of his.
4)There is a lot of discussion around Anokhi's demand to bring his mom back into his life and how it is unfair. It is and it is not. It is often said that parents are the most important people in our lives because they are a part of our identity. It is indeed curious that he knew his father became alcoholic because his mom abandoned them, he knew his mom had once loved him and his father dearly but he has never once looked back and tried to figure out what went wrong. He took the easy route to blame his mom for everything. If Anokhi had demanded anything less, he would have not even cared to do anything about it. This forces him to interact with his mother even if he does it at a superficial level. It will hopefully allow him to see her love and care for him while drawing a contrast with Devi who will try her best to tighten the noose around his neck. Anokhi is right- if he could not even find it in his heart to find truth, and fight for his mother the most natural of relationships, how could she trust him to fight for her.
It is a very interesting track, I do hope it does not become too preachy and female-oriented. Just like Anokhi has rights and her dreams and wishes have value so does Shaurya's.
So Anokhi denies it on face but accepts the relationship in heart while Shaurya has already accepted the relationship. I am still not sure, what is gonna happen to the engagement with Shagun. If they go public, how will Anokhi react to it or does she care to react at all. Is Shaurya willing to still go ahead with public announcement even when he insists that he is a married man but his wife denies the marriage. On a different note, I can completely see Shaurya having a hard time keeping his hands off Anokhi and when has Anokhi been capable of denying him anything when he is at his charming best. Reema has an inkling, she will be the one who will be helping them meet, provide cover and do chori chori romance.
