He is not perfect at all. He is flawed like all of us, has several childhood traumatic issues.

This guy does mistakes. But he has the courage to admit those and apologise upfront. He is willing to be a better version of himself, he is not some stupid jerk who doesn't want to change and disregard own feelings. He once said his conscience is one of the two things that matters most to him and that's what make him stand out

He was right in not making a tamasha but he shouldn’t have let Shagun hold his hand and should have stood apart.

After the party, he could just call his family members and calmly declared his emotional equation with Anokhi within 5 minutes to clear his stance and then head out for Anokhi.
