Nope, not really shaadi ka tohfa, he might do it outta plain tp more than anything.

The only point is that it adds to MU and D-drama. They will not just assume Pallavi cheated them by marrying RR, but that she was greedy for house and shop and now owns both. They will close those doors on her face.
