Anirudh filed petition, how can he say child marriage is wrong when he doesn't want to end his own? Or they play sad BGM when the reformer is talking about good future of young girls (Watch tonight's episode, you'll know what I am talking about), it just seemed oddly placed

I follow the show and in this show, when Anirudh filed the petition, he said now Bondita will have her own identity, what happened to that?

He filed a petition because Kaka said that there's no law to end his relationship with Bondita so I am assuming he fought the case keeping the reason for filing the petition in his mind

Doubtless, Bondita will have bright future with Anirudh, would we discuss if there was no track to annul the marriage? I mean if they have introduced a track which is ending Child marriage, how can say I am in favor of Child marriage and against the act? Do you see my point?

The track wasn't there so this question wasn't there as there was no law, now they are saying that there is a law to stop it, so why would I be against a law which is stopping child marriage?

RCs are jamindars, they are powerful, It must have been difficult for Anirudh to send a woman to school, society must have been against it too but do we stop because of society? No, why is society an excuse now?

Bondita can live with RCs with her mother, her mother is her legal guardian, RCs are powerful, Bondita and Anirudh's relationship remains the same, minus the Kupratha of Child marriage

In the show, Marriage with Manorama was fake which was reiterated by them multiple times, twice on their wedding night when Bondita was hiding under the bed

How conveniently you missed it, even though you clearly watch it enough to remember the episode and time stamp

I said I feel the show has glorified Child marriage because people who watch the show are giving millions of excuses to protect Child marriage, If the show was against child marriage, I wouldn't see people defending it

I will stop watching the show eventually, if they dont focus on Bondita's education, I have certainly stopped discussing it, just couldn't resist commenting on that post

@Bold - If the show is against child marriage, why did the show portrayed marriage of Ani-Bon? The reason that comes out is the EXACT reason why people don't want THIS PARTICULAR marriage to get annulled.

It's very clear. Most of the opinions of people here points it out to one direction only - the marriage of Ani and Bon. The marriage, or I should say the tag of the marriage was and is still required for Bon to sustain and become a barrister. Back in 1920s, it was not easy to take responsibility without a tag like it is today. Not wanting only "their' marriage to end does NOT mean people support child marriage because the marriage of Anirudh and Bondita is NOT a 'typical' marriage. Had it been, why would we and even you watched the show? The marriage has a reason and for that reason, as you pointed out, Anirudh was in dilemma.

If there is any other way of Bon sustaining without having to face troubles from society, getting educated without the marriage, no one is going to have a problem. But IF there is a way.
