Amma has to be involved either way. It was pretty clear from the way she slapped him in the sangeet and then told him during the photoshoot. In YHM too, the fathers decided to arrange the marriage. Here, I guess it will be the mothers?

Sharda might have believed that Pallavi likes RR but is too shy to tell her about it or something. 😆
