Possible that they were friends, then RR and his fam went into hiding for few years.

He returned back as Don, found Farhad and they are working together post then.

Maybe we will have to assume that they were childhood friends and then Farhad left with his parents to some other city so he wasnt around when that incident happened .. 🤷
