Bon can’t do it on spot is a different thing, my reply was to IIT topper not knowing table of 23. Everyone learns at different speed, I had no opinion on Ani asking her as ultimately she was able to memorize it so there was a happy ending to the fiasco, I didn’t feel the need to dissect it as there was no open end left to the plot, they closed it within a few minutes, I have no opinion on it from the plot POV, It was to make a point that Bon has the ability to memorize table of 23 once she puts her heart in it
I made a point that 23*25 is not difficult for an IIT Topper, One should look at the curriculum of Physics or Maths in class 11, 23*25 is too little for someone in class 4, to believe that IIT topper can’t do it is absurd.
Hope you got my point
I understand what you are to trying to say but I think you missed a point. Hema said ke IIT topper ko 23x25 rata hua nahi hoga. She did not say that an IIT topper cannot know the table. Yes, an IIT topper can say the result on spot, can have the table of 23 memorized but does not necessarily need to have mugged up the exact value of 23x25 as even tables go up to only being multiplied by 10. Saying the answer spot on and mugging up the value are two different things.
Coming to Ani, we might would not have a problem too as during the munshi track he made Bon learn compound interest even though we feel there was time to it. We did not had a problem then because of the way he taught her. This time the writing part is weak. They need to have substantial facts and solid enough reasons as to why Ani chose the path for Bon. Till now we thought Bon might be failing in exams but no, that was not the case either. Bon had all the answers correct for the interview questions, she even reads newspapers (advice given by Ani) on a daily basis. So Ani's decision looks vague. The writing makes him seem to be obsessed with her studies. But again they will bring another instance of Bon failing to give an answer or something like that so that Ani's actions/decisions makes sense. The situations seems to constantly change as per the convenience of the outcome. Like if they want to show Bon neglecting/failing in studies, they need to show it in a more detailed way WITHOUT involving a single scene of her academic excellence or her abilities. Yes, Bon certainly has the credibility to do a lot of things but there is a way you bring out the credibility. Was there any need of taunting a 4th standard kid when she cannot give a spot-on answer of 23x25? This makes Ani look like an impatient and obsessed guardian. What I am trying to say is that they could have brought a different scene where Bon is trying hard to solve a basic (very easy for a 12/13 year old kid) problem but is unable to do so because of her constant negligence, not because of negligence for a moment as per the script demand. Not a problem like multiplying 23x25 which can take time for a 4th standard kid. Some easy and basic problems. This would have made Ani's base of his decision more believable. The writers are trying to convey a different point but an entirely different point is taken by the majority of the viewers because of the weak writing.
It could be that you did not understood what Hema was trying to say and made a different meaning out of it. I hope it is cleared now.
And if you disagree with the Ani part, it's completely fine. Everyone has a different way of looking at things. I just hope you do not misunderstand and take things in a positive light.😊
