Yeah, its never just physical for him..Their touches are different, comfortable, gentle yet very hot. Even when he held her during " Jo kehna chahta hun..." , it was intense because of the look on his face.

Exactly and because of the emotional connect we don't get to pin point the sexual tension often. Like I remeber, last time I could clearly pin point the sexual tension between then was that car sleeping scene. Before that I can only remember the VD dance coz even in the Dhadak scene the emotional intimacy was so strong despite of the eye lock being sheer beauty

There is more to it. Shaurya is not her heir, he is her investment. If Shaurya slips out of her hand, she will her investment will go waste.

I have a feeling that when she says 'mera beta' she does not say it out of love for him, she says it out of 'ownership'. She does not really love him... She lives in an illusion of 'Mamta' for 'mera beta'.
