Speaking of unpopular opinions though.....I continue to wonder why Malini is painted as such a passive character in order to victimize her. Why not let her be a victim on what she's entitled to be a victim for....Aditya marrying her despite being married to Imlie. What's all this other extraneous stuff of trying to paint her as someone that Adi "did things" to.....lol....as if she didn't go into this relationship with her own choice for 7 years, didn't conduct it with her own choice, didn't choose to show love and affection for Adi from her own choice throughout....she wasn't forced to do any of that. Yet, again and again I read strange justifications painting her like a passive mannequin to whom things just "happened".....like she lives in a vacuum from those around her......lol....you take away a woman's own agency and then claim to be fighting for "women's rights"? Remarkable😆

Anyways, coming back to Adi-Imlie.....the topic of fair/unfair is very grey in this story. It was also unfair to Imlie for a long time that she faced the brunt of so much injustice and humiliation for something that wasn't her fault. The amount of things this poor girl has lived through, the things she has had to bear....and she's still done it all with a smile, asking for nothing but the right to her beliefs.....us sabke baad bhi we are told that people watch this show to see "justice" for Malini and not for Imlie? 😆 Sure Sure.

Wohi toh, people tend to forget that the most injustice has happened to Imlie because not only the rights, naukar banke toh she is the only one living in that house. Malini nahin.

The fact that Malini is emotionally manipulative and badly behaved tends to get overlooked quite a bit in order to try and give her a clean chit. And uss chakkar main we expect what, Aditya and Imlie’s equation to not grow when they are within the house? That is why I was saying we keep forgetting ki these two were married first. Malini ho ya na ho it does not matter when these two need to communicate. Malini should be told the truth. Lekin aise hi karti rahegi toh Aditya ka bacha kucha guilt bhi will fly out the window. She maybe reaping the fruits of her dad’s bad karma but her lack of real affection for anyone else is her own doing and not someone else’s fault.

This. No one is denying that Malini deserves to learn the truth. But the story is set up such that the truth isn’t able to come out whenever someone tries to speak it. The people here are all victims to circumstances and their own impulses. That’s what makes for a human story.

As for Adi ka bacha khucha guilt. lol yeah Malini is not helping her case right now with her continued inability to look beyond herself and doing these token gestures 🤷‍♀️. Adi has no patience left for token gestures cuz he is acutely feeling the weight of the injustices done to Imlie and his need to right those wrongs. His sense of righteousness about that is overpowering his usual guilt about Malini too.

On a slightly different note, were people seriously expecting that the truth will get revealed as soon as Adi realizes his love for Imlie? 😆. Have they not understood the way the complications function in this show? Lol that is the main storyline and conflict which won’t get resolved that easily. So if people want to continue watching the show, best to adjust expectations accordingly 🤷‍♀️

All of the above! Word.

This is a fictitious soap. Soaps are meant to be kheechoed till its breaking point on ITV, isnt it?

This show has progressed so well in its storytelling with a lot of poignancy. Much of which has been circumstantial. The characters are all flawed, they all make mistakes, but they are all just doing the best they can with the situation they are in. It is the story of people trying to fight their way to doing the right thing. And sometimes that “right thing” is awfully hard to see. Especially when it becomes a question of who needs you more rather than who you want to be with. Going beyond that, are people not looking at the screenplays? The direction, the costumes, the background music, the dialogues...I can really go on the level of production efforts this show has brought forward on ITV. And last but not the least, the actors themselves. Such brilliant acting by all three of them and the entire supporting cast.

Simple si baat hai- show ka naam hai Imlie, bas iss se zyada kya kehna..?!

@bold: Eggjactly😆. I find it amusing ki log bhool jaate hain who is the titular character for whom the show is NAMED😆....and around whom everything WILL REVOLVE. It's just FACT......lol if people want to blind themselves to that fact, can't help them *shrugs*

As for the rest....ROFL screenplay? Story? Direction? Acting? Very few people actually care about that....hum jaise hi kuch bhoole bhatke log hain yahaan pe😆.....for most, it seems the empty naarebaazi, presumptions based on years of watching one-dimensional soaps and characters....that's all that matters....lol this story is not for people with those expectations of aisi love story hogi, aisa romance hoga, aisa drama hoga😆. I'd rather watch something of substance and I'm happy I'm getting that with this show. 😊

Tu ek high five de hi de Yaar! 😊

Let me just take this space to mention what a beautiful scene was when Imlie was sketching from her memory. I couldnt help but think of the tamasha Malini did when her marriage pic was burnt. Such different personalities. Again Malini all her life has been in a negative environment where she has build this idea of a perfect life. Whereas Imlie grew up in an imperfect world but finds beauty in it. For her even though that shaadi was a complete torture, she embraced her truth of today and sketched it with a smile!

Word....it's all these things that aren't shown overtly but still the contrast comes through to us.....Imlie has never had the fortune to actually savor anything related to her marriage....but she's still managed to create memories, savor them simply on the basis of her own belief and strength of character. When she says ki woh apna rishta apne vishwaas pe nibhaane ke liye kaafi hai, she actually means it. She literally doesn't ask for anything from anyone.....she can find beauty in any imperfection and manage to make it beautiful with the power of her faith.

Malini on the other hand has literally had everything handed to her on a platter and she just isn't able to savor it.....she deserves the sympathy for not knowing the truth right now but what about all the other things? Why this constant ENVY of Imlie getting any sort of fikar from anyone? Kehne ko toh Adi ne bas fikar hi dikhaayi na us first scene mein with the doodh.....so why bring in a comparison? Even Imlie went through this long phase of watching Adi show more concern for Malini right in front of her eyes.....did she sit and cry ki why is Malini getting more than me? She constantly maintained that she understands that is Adi's choice and she kept her hurt to herself rather than constantly comparing....heck, she went two steps further and did all she could to smooth any ruffled feathers that would happen and still make sure Malini is getting more than her due rights.

Malini's meltdown over the picture burning showed how much she fixates on the symbols of something....while for Imlie, it is the power of her own faith and beliefs that over-rides everything. I will repeat again....Imlie belongs to the school of thought that even a stone is God if you believe in it....otherwise it's just a stone. Malini thinks a picture of her marriage, a video of her marriage is everything....while Imlie puts her faith in the actual relationship....she believes in her relationship above any tangible trappings associated with it.

Very well said.. so much word to the bold

Malini is more about quantitative things ke yeh bhi jo woh bhi ho tohi everything is perfect while imlie is more about quality thoda ho but value to ho.. all that Halla over the picture or cd getting stuck caz that for her they were the symbols something to gloat about and show the world to scream ke haan shaadi hui hai instead of caring about that very shaadi and invest in it.. she is more the kind who would scream on.top of her lungs and depend on mere show off for her her shaadi is only limited to a photoshoot or how lavish it was uske beech wala emotion is missing if finding her "partner " or a new family she doesn't give a damn uske liye bas itna bohat hai ke she has pictures to flaunt and use them as evidence and act all holier caz she has all that . It starts and ends with those tokens of marriage than the actual marriage.

While for imlie it is totally different she would rather invest in actual relationships rather than the tokens...she has nothing to show to the world.ke hui ke.nahi iski shaadi but she knows it he knows it and that is enough they have accepted each other from heart and are investing in building a relationship a bonding not only to each other but to everything related to each other they have formed the emotional attachments.. invested in knowing each other and that is all that matters ..

I wonder though what will be adi's reaction seeing the new frame haha watch malini Madan throw a tantrum at adi being whatever to it too

Lol I’m actually wondering if Malini will initially think ki Adi frame karva ke laaya hai uske liye woh shaadi ka photo 🤣

But Adi will probably be busy thinking about Imlie ka sketch and usko kaise frame karvana hai 😆. Basically point is ki Adi will be consumed with wanting to give his marriage with Imlie that regard and respect....he will likely be distracted if Malini tries to get some senti reaction from him about their shaadi ka photo 😆

I don't recall him asking Malini exactly like that ever about khaane mein kya hai....usually toh whenever he's shown up in the kitchen, his mom and other ladies are all around for him to ask about khaana😆

Sabse eyeroll worthy was Imlie being the one to take a stand for the ladies of the house doing so much work and last minute pe Malini Didi showing up to just make an "event" out of the Sunday thing.....lol....

Oh yaar don't remind me of that I was like as always last min she has to come to take the credit of abse hum apna kaam khud kareinge 🤓 when she didn't even notice the issue in first place and agar kia bhi toh went onto treating the women as whatever unka ghar unki zimmedaari I mean this is the woman jo apna dabba bhi khud pack nahi karti they do it for her and then she has to become mahaan I was like tumse toh ho gaya bas...sabse funny was adi didn't reacting to her mahaan idea and still going with crediting imlie and moving over to doing his good morning warna she expected him heaping praises on her for nothing isi liye token look I care the most suggestion haha
