Super Junior are no longer in their prime so they don't get as much attention anymore even though they essentially made K-pop popular internationally. Youngsters also consider people in their 30s to be old for some reason. Siwon is objectively good looking and once people find out about him they agree. His looks are the reason why he was selected for SJ. He basically needs a breakthrough role to get that kind of attention now.
