Yeah..Sometimes we close our eyes to the truth because its bitter and hard to digest. Vyom's duplicate story was like an easy escape route for vansh. He did not want to believe riddhima had betrayed him, He needed proof to prove the same, Vyom told him that duplicate story and Vansh grabbed on to it.

And riddhima's behavior is also confusing, She tells him she is riddhima, chides him for not recognizing his own wife but arranges a phone call to vansh from the "real" riddhima when she is standing in front of him.
