How I missed this, Madhu you are not well? What happened dear? Is it due to weather? Vibha rightly said eat healthy, keep hydrated and rest properly. You well be fit and fine soon. I know it will be difficult with kids and husband around but still.

Mom got another vaccine today. Everything went fine. We are now waiting another 2-3 weeks for him to gain full immunity. Then she will be safe.

Maha Shivratri, which literally translates to the great night of Lord Shiva' is a major Hindu festival, and is celebrated across India and the world by followers. Lord Shiva is known by many names some of which are Mahadeva, Pashupati, Bhairava, Vishwanath, Bhole Nath, Shambhu and Shankar. On Maha Shivratri devotees observe fasts, go to temples to pay their respects to Lord Shiva, get together, and chant prayers together among other things. However, this year on account of the coronavirus pandemic, one may have to celebrate the festival with social distancing rules and health regulations in place.

On this day it is a celebration of Shiva and Parvati's marriage to each other.

Though for some the festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated during the day, others celebrate it during the night by organising a series of 'jaagrans'(a night-long celebration replete with prayer ceremonies and religious hymns).

Shivratri festivities differ in various parts of India. Where in Southern Karnataka children have the leverage to indulge in mischief and then ask for punishment (symbolic of Shiva punishing Brahma for lying), Kashmiri Brahmins celebrate Lord Shiva's marriage to Parvati by starting the festivities 3-4 days prior to the main festival.
