He suspects ranisa is up to something. So he took the case. Then he said sorry for going against your wishes. If he is not sure what ranisa is upto how would he know to apologise? I think he promised ranisa that he will stay away from the case after he did the accident.

If Vikram did the accident and he remembers, it will be a great degradation to his character. Did he take the case to make sure Ramu doesn't come out? Why did he tell Ramu today to tell everything he knows? If he remembers, it would have been better that he stayed away from all this.

I don't understand why he said sorry to Ranisa and how he is going against her. Unless he is like Ranisa from the beginning and just acting to be good, and Ranisa is involving him in all her plans. That is like completely turning him into a villain, not even grey.
