For everyone who's waiting for an update, I just want to say that it's going to take a little bit of time because, I don't know why, but I can't login into my IF account from my laptop so I'm currently retyping it on my tablet 🤔

Chapter 14

The sunlight poured through the window and another day had dawned, bringing new hopes and aspirations with it.

Malhar was the first one to wake up. He glanced towards Kalyani who was still asleep while tightly holding his hand in hers. He smiled and tucked a strand of hair which was falling on her face behind her ear. He carefully freed his hand from her grip, trying his best not to wake her up and headed towards the door but before he could exit the room he heard Ayushi calling out for her Aai. Oh no! He totally forgot that his lovely daughter would've been awake by now. He ran back inside the room and hid in the bathroom. After a few momnents he heard footsteps.

Ayushi climbed on the bed and softly shook Kalyani.

"Aai tum abhi tak so rahi ho? Tumne kaha tum mujhe weekend pe park me leke jaayongi. Dekho mai tayyar bhi hogayi."

Kalyani rubbed her eyes and blinked a few times before grogily sitting up. She suddenly remembered that Malhar had been here last night. She started looking around in the room and was relieved when she realised he was gone but deep down she was a bit disappointed. God knows what would have happened if he hadn't come there on time yesterday. Though she still didn't know why he even saved her in the first place. He was the one who didn't want her in his life so why not just let her die. She felt stupid for breaking down in front of him. She herself didn't know why she had been so vulnerable at that time. But she couldn't deny the fact that he had been her support system yesterday and she had seen her Malharji. The Malharji who cared for her and would go to any extent for her. Maybe he still loved her too?

Her chain of thoughts was broken when Ayushi tapped her shoulders.

"Aai...kya soch rahi ho tum. Jaldi se jaake naha lo na. Mujhe park me jaana hai."

"Achha baba, utth rahi hu. Tumne breakfast toh kiya nahi hoga. Jaayo jaake naashta karlo tab tak mai naha leti hu"

Ayushi nodded and went to eat breakfast.

Kalyani walked towards the bathroom to take a shower but little did she know which surprise was waiting for her inside. As soon as she entered the bathroom she saw a person leaning onto the wall near her. She was about lo let out a scream but that person had noticed her and quickly covered her mouth with his hand. It was Malhar.

Their eyes locked for a few seconds but she shrugged his hand of and looked around too see if anyone was there.

"Aap yaha?," she asked in a low tone.

"Ha woh subha jab mai jane wala tha tabhi Ayushi aagayi toh mujhe yaha chupna pada," he explained.

"Aap rat bhar yahi the? Aap ghar kyu nahi gaye?"

"Tumne hi toh mujhe rokke rakha tha!"

Kalyani felt a bit awkward so she tried to divert the topic.

"Haa theek theek hai. Raat gayi baat gayi. Abhi aap jaldi se yaha se chale jaayiye."

"Agar kisine dekh liya toh?," he asked.

"Hmm..." Kalyani tapped her finger on her chin as she thought about what to do.

After a few moments of intense thinking an idea popped up in her mind.

"Malharji aap khidki se kud jaaiye!"

"Kya? Khidki se kud jaayo? Woh bhi mai? Aas pas ke log kya kahenge? Unhe lagega ki mai koyi chor hu aur chori karke bhaag raha hu"

"Ha toh aap hi koyi idea bataiye na?," she demanded.

"Tum ek kaam karo, jaake Ayushi ko distract karo aur mai chupke se nikal jaaunga."

Having no other option left she agreed and went out to somehow distract both Ayushi and Sanvi.

Malhar slowly walked towards the main door trying his best not to make much noise.

He saw Sanvi coming out of the kitchen so he quickly hid behind a curtain. After she had left he tip toed towards the living room where he saw Ayushi playing with her dolls and Kalyani was sitting beside her with a glass of milk while her eyes were searching for Malhar.

"Aai mujhe nahi peena doodh!"

Ayushi got up and walked towards the spot where Malhar was hiding. Kalyani noticed him so she quickly called out for Ayushi. As soon as she turned around Malhar almost ran across the room and hid under the dining table. Bad idea! After Ayushi had grabbed her teddy from one of the shelves she went to sit at the table. Malhar silently cursed himself for his stupid decision. Ayushi was swinging her legs under the table and Malhar was trying his best to avoid them hitting him but the table was quite small so he didn't have much space. It wouldn't take her long to find out that he was sitting under the table.

"Aai, khana laayo na! Bhook lagi hai!"

"Jab tak tum doodh nahi piyogi tab tak nashta nahi milega," Kalyani told her.

Ayushi pouted and stomped her foot on the ground right on Malhar's hand. He was about to screech but he quickly covered his mouth with his other hand. Kalyani had witnessed this all and was slowly starting to get worried. What if Ayushi noticed him?

"Aai tum mujhe bhooki rakhogi? Ab toh mujhe poora yakeen hogaya hai ki tum mujhse pyaar hi nahi karti," she said.

Malhar couldn't suppress a smile seeing his daughter's antics.

"Mai abhi Sam ko phone karti hu. Woh hi tumhe daantega ab!"

"Ayushi, Sameer tumse bade haina toh unhe aise naam se nahi bulate, Bad manners!," Kalyani scolded her.

But Ayushi had already gone into the other room to get her mom's phone to make a call.

Malhar on the other hand was getting worried. Sameer? Now, who's this? Ayushi seems quite fond of him. Is there something going on between him and Kalyani? No no! What are you thinking Malhar! Kalyani is not like that! But what if...

He didn't get time to think about it more as Kalyani was nudging on his arm, asking him to get out.

"Malharji, jaldi bahar aaiye. Ayushi dusre kamre me gayi hai. Woh bas aati hi hogi."

Malhar was getting up but in the process he hit his head on the table.

"Malharji, dhyaan kaha hai aapka? Lagi toh nahi?," Kalyani worryingly asked him while checking for any sort of injuries on his head.

Malhar was just sitting there, admiring her.

"Malharji, kuch kahiye na! Lagi kya?," she asked him again.

He came back to his senses and shook his head and Kalyani sighed in relief. Malhar carefully came out from under the table and headed out the door. As soon he was out, Kalyani closed the door behind her and leaned onto it, sighing in relief. This had been the longest morning!

Before saying anything else let me just apologize for this updating so late. I wasn't feeling so well, hence the delay but I know that's no excuse. I still had plenty of time. I'm really sorry.

Kalyani clearly still feels for him...it's just that it's hidden underneath all those layers of self preservation...that was articulated very well in the Chapter...kudos to you on that my sweet Noor 😘

Do I sense someone buring already?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Malhar ji and his jealousy....I already like Sameer 🤣🤣🤣 it will be nice to see them lock horns in the story...super excited 😆

As for the delay in update, I totally understand the circumstance Noor...it happens with me as well... sometimes no matter how much we try...we just can't some writing time and it's totally ok...please prioritize you health first... ❤️❤️
