I think web content too will deteriorate after a couple of years which already started with Altbalaji and Zee5 as they show ITV like content and family drama too. Before 2005, channels like DD1, DD2, Star, Sony, Zee were Netflix, SonyLiv and Amazon for people in some ways with reasons below:
1. Popular or unpopular movie actors in many good shows like we have now in web series.
2. Many talented actors but not overrated acting in progressive shows.
3. Shows had different genre for all age groups like kids normal shows, fantasy shows, crime shows, thriller shows, horror shows, family dramas, detective series, game shows, cartoons, mythology shows, historical shows and even science fiction shows. So everyone had something to watch.
4. Many shows were finite which had less than 50-100 episodes. But several shows crossed 200 episodes. And only few shows had 500 episodes but only due to story requirement.
5. People wore clothes as per requirements and situations not men decking up in suits or women heavy designer sarees with jewelleries all the time with heavy make-up.
6. Kids acted like kids only instead of involving in adult matters and kitchen politics.
7. Bold content shows were not glorified at all but only shown real issues of the society like they did not encouraged EMA but simply made people aware this is another side society and how not at marriage is not perfect and reasons why people take the route of EMA.
8. Women did not wore heavy designer clothes and heavy jewelleries with make-up at home but normal clothes which people wear at home with minimum jewelleries and natural make-up.
So if TV quality got ruined over the years web too can suffer the same in some or other ways like in crime based or small town shows everyone talk in fake UP Bihar as not all people in villages and small town talk like that. Bold shows on AltBalaji and Ullu are so unrealistic. They go overboard with their sleazy content. In youth shows on web, every male and female characters does too much overacting instead of some of them shown acting like normal youth. Double meaning talks are shown more than required. Most of them shown smoking and drinking even when not required in scene. So slowly slowly even daily soap content can come which Ekta has started in AltBalaji from 2-3 years.
