He did not spare a moment for his promises. You cannot be so traumatized to have forgotten it completely, just monologue at the window from that day too he never started

RAmadheer was Rani's and her family's lifeline

Post Balliya I can understand it was just 2 days.

I agree. the whole Baliya experience was an eye opener for him. we feel it is sudden because there was no monologue or any vocal explanation given before he returned to take Rani
