I don't think she realises that there is a part of Veer that actually likes Rani.

She probably looks at all the times he ignored her, shouted at her and think if they spend more time together he will realise how wrong she is for him.

She is expecting a repeat of the wedding night by forcing them to come close. but she does not realise that all the anger had nothing to do with Rani but herself.

With her out of the equation veer is attracted to Rani like a moth to a flame.
