The month of love is right around the corner and we’re getting all the feels. Ahead of this year’s day of love, we caught up with a fit and fabulous B-Town jodi that wins out heart with their camaraderie, charisma and #monkeylove. From love to marriage and value of conversations to growing old together, Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover spilled the tea, and it’s all things adorbs, just as their V-Day plans. Q: The last few months have been very challenging for the world, so as a couple what has been your takeaways from this type of experience?

Bipasha: This whole time has taught us that we have to be a little more responsible towards the environment. That has been a very strong takeaway. There are a lot of things that we take for granted, we need to stop doing that. We have to be eco-conscious in our own household and do the and right thing as a responsible human being. Also, the fact that life is quite unpredictable, so spend the time with people you love and make ample time for love. Because we are born to succeed and we are born to achieve and have money and the name and everything... but, none of that will matter if we don't have love. I think love has to take priority and step up a little more. You need to value relationships and love more.

KSG: I feel that people don't give enough importance to being joyous and being joyful. We live our days and life doing things that we don't really like much. We spend a lot of time and energy just so we can make that extra 10 bucks; so that we can improve our bank balance. In its place, we keep ignoring what we are and what makes us happy. That's something that will prevent us be better people and be better individuals for ourselves and our relationships. If you don't like something so much and you're not finding joy in it, then maybe it's time for you to do something else.

Q: You both enjoy doing a lot of activities together - from working out to traveling together and so much more. Is there something that you two absolutely cannot do together?

Bipasha: He’s an artist; it’s a very individual journey. He wants me to be into this but I’m not that talented. So when Karan paints, that’s his time and that’s one thing we can’t do together. It’s something very joyous to him. He loves to paint and I love to see him do it but I cannot directly contribute to that process with him.

KSG: You (Bipasha) contribute to everything that's going on.

Q: So, Bipasha, can you tell us one thing that really annoys you about Karan?

Bipasha: Karan is very slow in doing things. It irritates me.

KSG: I’m not slow, she’s on some sort of hyper speed.

Bipasha: If I tell Karan to do something then I have to call him and check if he has completed it. He will just say, ‘yes, I’m doing it. I'm doing it.’ Then I call and ask again: ‘Have you done it?’ And he says, ‘yeah, I was about to do it.’ So Karan is very slow and I'm trying to speed him up. He has become a little faster than he used to be (laughs).

(Continues...) He has so many things, like, if he has to get up from the bed and come to the sofa, he carries like hundred things along. There are pens, paper and then notebooks and journals, I don't know... some accessories. I had always heard that women have so many things, but Karan has SO many things. So I always tell him, please start moving your production, it will take 20 minutes to move from here to there. Please start your process. We have to leave at this time, so please stack your production. I hope I can show it to some people. People don't believe me because he has so many things.

Q: We’ll turn the tables around. Karan, can you tell us one thing that really annoys you about Bipasha?

KSG: Well, the fact that she's so fast and she's always right about everything, like EVERYTHING. There are many times when I feel I'm right about this for sure, like I would bet my life on the fact that she's wrong. But (turns out) she's right. She's always right. It's very, very frustrating to be always wrong. She's always right and that means I'm wrong. I haven’t been right for the last seven years. So, seven years of being wrong every day. And I think it's going to continue for the rest of my life.

Bipasha: Karan is a big child. You tell him anything and the first thing he’ll say (is) ‘no’, and he’ll have some things to say, and then within two seconds, he will say, ‘okay you’re right’. I’m right, he doesn’t even give me a chance to react or respond, or say anything.

KSG: Sometimes, during arguments also, halfway through the argument, I’m screaming, and I'm thinking she's actually right, what am I doing, but I can't really take it back. I storm off the room and come back two minutes later and say, you’re right and I’m wrong.

Bipasha: My husband gives me a lot of drama in my life, he’s dramatic.

Q: Let’s talk about fitness, another thing you guys like to do together. You give fitness goals to so many couples out there. How do you encourage each other?

Bipasha: I think, the main aim is to be healthy. Now people are talking about health and immunity and being fit and rightfully fit. For me, being strong from inside rather than just physically has always been more important. It's not just about the physical appearance. It's something that I have always thought of. I want to live a 100 years without any lifestyle issues or diseases, which are very common, which come with stress in today’s point of time. You don't even have to do anything wrong and you can have a lot of lifestyle issues. I'm somebody who propagates good health. And for that, I want to work out. I want to choose the right stuff and be fit and healthy, in the true sense. Having a partner, who also believes similarly, is always better because we are in sync. That really helps, sometimes when I'm low or I'm not being able to work out, he’ll give me a little bit support and say, ‘don't be so hard on yourself, it's fine and you'll be fine’. The next day I do the same for him. It’s like give and take all the time.

Q: Let’s talk about love and love stories. Can you tell me how marriage and love have changed you both?

Bipasha: I feel that marriage has changed me. It's definitely a step up in that direction of living your life, going through the flow, the process of life. I've become a lot more homely than I used to be earlier. I never did household chores before, now my whole day's about household chores. But if I have extra time on my hands, I like doing gardening and cooking. I never had that time before. But I do all of this now and I enjoy it. It's another phase of my life.

KSG: She's so good with her cooking! Also, it's not just marriage and it's not just love, it's actually her that has changed me. She has something about love that kind of makes you vibrate a little, higher than usual. All the things that are negative are leaving you automatically and you start becoming a better person just by being around her. If I give credit to this marriage or love, it would be not correct, because it's actually it's her, the way she is being the person that she is, full of love for everyone and herself and always taking care of everything. I was thinking of things, always planning everything for everybody and always making sure that everyone who loved each other, they're in touch. So, yeah, that has changed in me a lot. You have to live with someone who you you want to wake up every morning and you want to say that you want to be like them because of so many reasons, and then you try and make yourself better in those ways.

Q: How did your love story begin?

Bipasha: Our love story was quite dramatic. When we met, we connected instantly and we really could talk about anything under the sun. Things that we have never spoken with anybody else, we could actually tell each other and we could talk for hours. It started with a very, very beautiful, strong friendship - that's the label people normally say. We would lose track of time talking to each other and we still talk a lot. It was a friendship and there was a lot of attraction. There was a lot of missing each other when we were not together. But at the same time, we were kind of in denial of it. So it went back and forth, we moved away from each other, came together and then moved away, then there was a time when we both realised, 'that this is really stupid, what we are doing and we need to be together.'

Q: Was it love at first sight? Do you believe in love at first sight?

Bipasha: No, I don't think love at first sight works for me. I don't know. But yes, the connect was something that was not an ordinary connect that we had. We couldn't deny that. Right from day one, we started talking.

KSG: I believe in love in all its forms, man. If you find love at first sight, it’s a good thing; if you don’t and you fall in love later, when you already know that person, then that’s a brilliant, beautiful thing too. As long as there is love, it's fine to believe in it. First sight, second sight, hindsight, all good!

Q: The idea of love is an ever-evolving emotion, so where are you today and how do you perceive from where you started?

Bipasha: Like we said earlier, everything changes. We both have evolved and we are going to evolve as long as we work on ourselves. You get better and better as a human being. You will give better to your relationship and especially to the closest relationship that you have with your spouse.

KSG: And that's thing that people say, 'My love, for you, I will never change,' that is the biggest lie in the world because they don't even know what they're saying in the sense that love changes every day, it becomes deeper.

When I and Karan talk about this, we really say that we love each other so much more than what we felt when we met that time used to be like, 'oh, we love each other so much', when we finally accepted it. But today, when we talk about it, we do love each other more and we feel that love and it's much more intense, much more mature, and much more responsible. It has so many facets to it. It's not just attraction. And I think we are going in that direction every day.

Q: Lastly, let us in on your plans for Valentine’s Day?

KSG: We plan to have a staycation in one of the hotels with our friends and Bipasha has got some nice, interesting pajamas made for all of us.

Bipasha: We’re going to have a couple’s kind of Valentine’s Day. We’re going to have a pajama party, just chill, play games, laugh, dance and do things that we have not done for a while. I didn’t want to be in the house so we have decided to go outside for a simple and sweet celebration.

Honestly I hated Mitwa, it was hammering. I know I am making everyone angry but QH1 forum has tons of posts me having complaining how much I disliked it 🤣😂 and Gul's dream project it was so disappointed with the hammering loud Mitwa!
