AUTHOR'S NOTE : Guys, I tried to write a longer drabble this time. YOUR FEEDBACK IS MY MOTIVATION. More feedback and constructive criticism, the more regularly I post. I'm dying to hear your thoughts and ideas for more OS and drabbles.

DRABBLE#2

It was the annual felicitation function of SIAC where meritorious students were awarded in the presence of all the students, college management and the students' families.

"Ms. Anokhi Bhalla, student of BA program third year is an embodiment of determination and hard work. It's rare to have new students in second year, it rarer to see them as a gold medalist. Ms. Anokhi, stands as the highest scorer in the history of SIAC. We invite you on the stage and recieve your award".

Some were amazed, some said they saw it coming but everyone could sense the pride in Shaurya's voice while he gave the speech for Anokhi. A lot had changed in the past two years, Shaurya's chachu and his bade papa still didn't like Anokhi but he surely has grown to respect her.

Over these two years, she has not only been a brilliant student but a confidante to him. They would duel for hours over theories, both unwilling to back down. Shaurya couldn't remember if he ever had such stimulating, fulfilling discussions in his life. Despite having such talented professors in his own family, he has never felt so content while conversing with anyone. Anokhi is just something different.

He saw her approaching the stage with the brightest smile, only directed at him. Shaurya smiled back at her, sensing her turbulent emotions in her smile : exhilaration - for finally graduating with a gold medal in hand, thankful - for Shaurya for being her mentor as well as her strength and grief because her father still didn't accept her.

But for some reason he couldn't stop looking at her, as if unconsciously searching for something else, something more - for him.

When he saw her walk away, his smile fell off thinking of her leaving the college. Leaving him.

He couldn't ignore it anymore. He had grown fond of Anokhi. Not how a professor should for his student.

But like a man does for a woman.

And he could do nothing about it.

I hope something like this happens in the show re: Drabble 2. So Anokhi graduates early after her 3rd year. Now what Shaurya?

Thank you! Actually courses in india except for engineering are of three years so it would've been Anokhi's last year anyway.

It's just that it didn't hit Shaurya that she's leaving until she walked away from the stage. He realised he might never see her. That prompted him to accept his feelings to himself.

The last line, " and he couldn't do anything about it" isn't said because he actually can't do anything, it's because Shaurya is a moral man. He doesn't want to hold anokhi back, he wants her to fly away. Moreover, he knows the stigma of dating ones professor so he wants to spare Anokhi of all that.

This is why he decides to bury his feelings within himself

Loved the 2nd one more. Aww poor shaurya bechare ka dil tutne mein hein. But I'm sure their story won't end here. Anokhi will definitely come back to him. May be events khatam honey ky baad akele milny ajaye. Aise thodi na woh chodke ja sakti hein apne shaurya sir ko.
