My son’s bday today. My daughter’s bday next wday. We used to celebrate their bdays together as it is only 5 days apart. But last year , they said no more bdays together .
esp my daughter and her friends - I don’t want his friends to come to my bday party , boys are not so cool , behaving like small kids, making noise etc 😉.
This year no party 😔 so planning to cook their fav food for BF, lunch and dinner - take out from their fav restaurant.
Can’t believe my son is turning 14 today. He is already 5’10 and talking in adult voice ( not in behaviour though 😛 ). For my eyes he still looks like a small boy sucking finger, playing with toy cars 😊 .
Happy birthday to your son and advance birthday wishes to your daughter ❤️❤️
I like everything South Indian. I don't like a lot of spices in my meal so, I try to make or ask mom to make dishes like pav bhaji at home with potato gravy sabzi adding tomatoes, peas and onions and toastng the pav in tawa with butter.
I was scared to share this before fearing blasphemy charges against me by food Police but mustering my courage let me tell you all, I try to make all dishes as SI as one could imagine, even the foreign ones.😆
I love love tacos but hate how much cheese they add to it in restaurants, also, the refried beans that you get online aren't upto mark. So, once I decided to make it at home and prepared mixed veg sabzi, added rajma beans, tofu to it and finally put it in taco shells. There it was, I made the quickest taco one could imagine. And no, I didnt prepare tomato salsa as well. My parents were like what was the point even, you could have as well had the curry with rasam rice or rotis but i waxed eloquent about my love for taco shells . They had to give in. Now wait for it, I actually loved it and might try it again sometime.😆
The worst combo I ever tried was maggi/ramen with yogurt (curd). Sure, it goes well with those spicy restaurant noodles but not maggi. Never. Ever. Try. It.
In Chennai, the best lasagna i've had was at Mathsya restaurant in Egmore. Mind you, I only go to Vegetarian restaurant so, my knowledge is very limited. Mathura in Mount road, was good as well but they used add a lot of cheese. Fried noodles at Mathura was par excellence though, I am going to miss them when I come to Chennai. 😭 Also, Prive restaurant in Mylapore had good variety of starters and buffet, not sure how it is now though.

I think mathura is closed now( not sure though) I have visited there twice but long time back.. .. woodlands is closed ... Saravana Bavan has lost its fame ..😔 love the sambar idlis there...
I m a food lover ..I ll eat all food. I like to try different varieties... .thallubadiye kidaiyadhu. .But veg la mattum than... Non veg la I eat only chicken n fish ...😊
Only thing I ll be conscious is not to waste food. I ll take limited quantities n make sure eat everything...

Yes pa, it's closed, that's why I said I will miss them.. also, it's quite sad because they were one of the few restaurants who were employing even senior citizens so, I was quite sad when I read about their closing down.
Saravana is long-gone from good restaurants category.. Sangeetha in college road was quite good the last time I visited there.. ippo epdi irruku therila..
New restaurants like Idlies, can be tried once but not for those who want have typical South Indian food. Few items like their Vathakuzhambu rice and sepankizhangu fry can be tried and that's about it.
I like SI meals made without onion and garlic so, thaligai in Luz Church road, is one of my favs. They sodhapify their tiffin items like dosa sometimes.. but I absolutely love their Sevvai-Morkozhambu combo and Peas Uthappams. I won't recommend take away or online delivery for tiffin items though.
