@bold- the strange baby track reminds me...i really looveed the track where everyone in the family thinks that shivika are pregnant and that whole scene where shivaay was like rishta dil hai jism ka nhi...our relationship is based on factors wildly different from intimacy.
I tolerated Gauri, one because she remined me of old anika, the funny crazy one, writers really subdued anika's character after marriage ( her interactions with shivaay were still the same, thank god, but with the rest of the family they really tried to potray that sarvgunn sampan bahu vibe...had it been the old anika, pinky ki himmat nhi hoti itna kuch krne ki..but oh well!!)
Back to point, 2nd i tolerated Gauri was because i had no other optionš. I really loved the idea of om falling for ishana (thanks arshišā¤ļø) but they nevwr really developed the track enough so that i could root for both of them. That makes me so sad Because the wasted potential in their characters.
Again I'll just search for that ff i talked about in my previous comment where the story although revolves around shivika but others are also developed really well. Since the writer used the og leads, we get a glimpse of what could have been!!š
And that ff made me realise that ishana's character would have gelled up/ bonded rally well with shivaay.
Kapoor sisters are toh a mess yrš
Kya hai kya cheez vo mujhe smjh hi nhi aaya abhi tak. When tia Kapoor was introduced, she was shown as this lovely but a little self centered socialite who is not catty. This carried on for so long and then suddenly in a week's woth of episodes Tia became this vamp ( was she really a vamp though because her mom was forcing her to do it) who was acting.
And too add to the confusion, if she really did not want to do all of that against the oberoi's, why did she get so hyper about killing anika...
Then let's see, the 2nd crazy , the one who was potrayed as the kaikayi ( although jhanvi became one later on) and the maha villain and dushman of oberoi's. From the whole freaking show, all i could get from her character ( except for the fact that harneet really can't write good villains) was that she was obsessed with oberoi's. Hwr whole life revolved around Oberoi's. Swetlana kapoor had no idea who she was except for someone who was bornš to take revenge from oberoi's. Reasons for revenge be damned!!š¤Ŗ
Romi/ saumya- if my sumo baby was the 3rd real kapoor sister, then toh kya starting ke 300 episodes mai usse amnesia tha, hazaar mauke the uske pass toh, kr deti Oberoi's ka kaam tamaam!! š¤£
Romi devi ke toh kehne hi kya hai..sirf chran sparsh!! Aashirwaad dijiye aur please jaiye!!š
Yes, ShiviKa has time and again had these shining moments in the tracks. They're the ones that make entire tracks worth it. I like how they highlighted that their relationship had evolved beyond their physical attraction during the false pregnancy call. I remember how they made an entire track of the SR - them trying to get intimate but always failing to do so. But man, it was hilarious when OmRu asked them then what they do when they are actually alone and Shivaay says "Baatein" almost unsurely and even they are like "....sirf baatein?" 𤣠I still lose it when I remember it because IT WAS TRUE. Aur yahaan pe toh VaNi had a full fledged SR on first try.... but its like it didn't even happen š³.
I honestly didn't mind Gauri so much. Sometimes I'd feel for her too but like you said Om was a really complex character. His character and its intricacies imo was something that was never done on ITV. A journey that would have been dark for the most part. Wildly different from Shivaay and Rudra. They started with this character that could have had a brilliant arc. But I think they did not know how to deal with him and run his story in parallel to the others while keeping them all connected. Thinking of it objectively, both Gauri and Ishana could have fit with him. (Because they were confused with him, they kept changing his partner too perhaps). If Ishana were to keep going ahead, I am sure they would have adjusted her and her antics too. But then they made him Shivaay 2.0 which also meant they had to bring a version of Anika for him then.
AND YESSSS. Anika was subdued quite a bit. People do change with the course of time and with the roles they assume in life, I agree... but it was the fact that they toned down her tadi, takkar and tashan. I like that the character knew when to make use of them and when not to. But damn, there were times after her marriage when she could really use them but she didn't. Even with Shivaay, at a way later stage of the show and their relationship, their interactions would go the same way. But sometimes the tadi and takkar would just be naam ka. As Arshi says, all in the name of glorifying the great wall of SSO.
@Tia and Kapoor sisters. They were a wild ride. Svetlana was consistent. Tia babyyy had a bit of ride from a villain to a hesitant one. Saumya ka toh I am still too bitter. She legit saved their lives and ass so many times before the writers decided to make her a Kapoor sister and forget all the things we were shown about her. Matlab akele mein bhi acting kar rahi thi achaayi ka? š¤
