Ok general knowledge time (like Abhinav’s lol). It’s a word originated in Arabic used to describe Ethiopians (Africans) (it wasn’t derogatory at the time).

Over time it entered in Hindi/Urdu vocab and is now used for either 2 things. One for someone who’s over eating and gorging on food and the other as a derogatory word for Africans. I’ve heard it being used in both cases many times. So perhaps Ruby should have avoided using that term.

Having said that, in my humble opinion, I don’t think Ruby used it for any derogatory reasons. She only mean’t about the over eating issue lol
