In Mariam Parera too Sadia played a christian who converted to Islam to marry Ahsan Khan.

I think it is because Muslim girls are forbidden from marrying non muslims that we don't see Pakistani dramas on this topic. Ishqzaat also.. they guy turned out to be a muslim whose mother lost him and he was rised up by Sikh family.

I think the only drama which dared to show a muslim girl getteing married to a non muslim was : Saaya E Deewar Bi Nahin. Naveen married a christian and had a son with him. 😊

That show was so bad to a point that basically Nareen was suffering and her suffering was because of she married out of religion. Saddddd ... she made some some life choices and no one in her family supported her was the real reason not because of she married out of Muslim. It was so terrible reasoning and horrible end.

I have seen it. Don’t like the fact the story basically portrayed Maria converts to Muslim. I want to see Muslim man marry Hindu / Christian and let her live with her religion and accept her.

It was because its forbidden to a muslim man/woman to marry a person of other religion. First they have to convert the religion of that person in Islam than he/she can marry her/him.

I don't think in recent times there has been one. However if interfaith stories interest you there was a old drama on HUM called Parsa. I never saw it but its Hindu girl-Christian man story.

Parsa was Muslim girl Christian man I think not sure though

Not in the leads but a supporting character in Bin Roye did that

The first husband of the heroine was married to a Hindu girl n they showed children following both religions. But that's pretty much i guess

Worst was Mushrik the Hindu girl converted to Islam in the last scene due to literally no reason. It seemed like they just wanted to show the conversion to ensure no controversy

That's true but in global community that's not followed completely. Many people go for inter religion marriages including Muslim girls n boys but I guess Pakistan being a religious society doesn't dare show such relations n marriages

OOu this is interesting.

I found one show based on the Hindu community in Pakistan...its called Seeta Bagri.

That was the worst show in Pakistan TV I have watched, literally no story, no continuity and pathetic editing to top on that. The Hindu rituals shown made no sense either. ..

It seemed just like they wanted to have a show on Hindus so made anything

Good some progressive thinking.

A lot of conservatives would wreak havoc. That's a big reason a lot of topics that could be great to show do not get shown because of backwards thinking of some people.

Meri Adhoori Mohabbat with Sabreen Hisbani and Humayun Saeed. Sabreen played a Hindu woman if I recall correctly. Humayun, a Muslim falls in love with her but she is already engaged to someone else. She divorces and marries Humayun's brother. She does convert later in the series but her conversion was not due to marriage. It was a soap so the usual complicated mess lol.
