I've never heard of Preity Zinta being the first choice for Jab We Met - where did you hear this?

Kajol was in fact offered Josh, and Mohabbatein, this is confirmed, not "some sources say".

When it comes to Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam - Sanjay Leela Bhansali wrote it with Madhuri Dixit in mind. But he was too scared to ask her because she rejected his Khamoshi so vehemently. He offered it to Kajol, lord knows why she said no. Kareena Kapoor has been given the signing amount for the film (which she revealed on Film Companion's "Firsts" series).

It's funny how again with Devdas this time, Kajol was offered it, Kareena was promised it, Madhuri appeared in it, and Aishwarya starred in it. The same 4 divas.

Did you know: Khamoshi was offered to Kareena Kapoor also - she would have been 15 years old, so the role would have been a few years younger. Twinkle Khanna also refused the role. As did Kajol.

Don't know if it's authentic or not.

Btw the best 'replacement' role is Tina in KKHH. Role went to everyone from Twinkle Tabu Ash etc before settling on Rani

women and in general people sometimes exaggerate their story when there is drama and you are angry with the man in this case. She was accused by some press after cc fiasco to be unprofessional and by some in bw industry too so she had to justify why she was still seeing salman on and off and to clear up her image . And of course she was angry at him cause he provoked indirectly her firing from cc and others film with srk. But her removing from the others film was srk idea. Honestly. And even during cc why they couldn't have some bodyguards on their set Salman srk weren't in talking term in that period I can understand her in some way she was angry and wasn't really her fault but in difficult time you tend to see the situations in a more dramatic way. She was angry and rightly so

Mostly, I would also say that I will choose the women above men when abuse and harassments are concerned. However, after seeing the Kangna-Hrithik fiasco, I believe that sometimes it is better to look into both sides of the coin. Salman, is not a saint by any means, but I definitely do not believe that he can beat up someone like Aish and she will remain quiet about it. I am glad that she got out of the toxicity though.

THANKS

OMG I had no idea. The source seems legitimate, and they've got her in QUOTE MARKS so I'll take it and add it to my list. Must be around 250 long by now.

As well as KKHH, the role of Nisha in DTPH was offered to many: Juhi Chawla, Kajol, Urmila Matondkar, Manisha Koirala, Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty.. possibly more.

The most strongest and assertive women have been abused in relationships. Just because they ‘appear’ to be forthright in general does not mean that they will all react the same when dealing with physical/mental abuse.

Gaslighting is a major influence, whereby the abuser has manipulated the victim into believing that they are wrong and in fact responsible for the abuse. Most of the time women stay quiet and suffer in silence because the man shows remorse and makes extravagant attempts to pacify the victim into believing that it will never happen again. The victim (being in love) falls for it, because they have ‘positive memories’ of how good the relationship can be at times. Let’s use gambling as an example for the above scenario. Why do you think people who gamble and lose huge amounts of money still continue to gamble? This is because the ‘high’ that is associated with one major win will eliminate all the memories of other losses. Gamblers with an addiction try to seek that high despite losing continuously because they remember how good it felt winning and knows that there is a probability that they can win again. Victims of domestic violence have a similar thought processing pattern.

Unless anyone here has been in an abusive relationship, we cannot judge or assume their actions based on how they appear in public. We do not know what has transpired behind closed doors and as you know, even the strongest of people have their moments of weakness. If Aishwarya Rai has made claims that she has been abused, then I will give her the benefit of the doubt. Not all victims go to the police. They have their own reasons, even if we find it stupid or irrational but fear of judgement, blackmail, backlash and even love for the perpetrator can prevent people from seeking help or speaking out. That is, until they’ve had enough and have found the strength to walk away. Everyone does not react the same in situations.

P.S. Sorry for the essay 😆 I just blurted out whatever I had in mind. Of course there is always two sides of the story. However I won’t eliminate possibilities of abuse just because the victim didn’t go to the police. There is no correlation between abuse = police. Unfortunately abuse is often unreported.

omg what is this juvenile nonsense that Salman fans are writing here? Pure garbage. 🤢

Salman is one of the scummiest people in the industry. He is a certified psychopath (age has slowed him down now, but he was equally cray cray as Kangana in his hey days).

Aishwarya did go to the cops and Salman was asked to keep a distance from her. Why are people twisting facts to suit their narrative?

The Khans tried to sabotage her career and she came back with a bang. What she pulled off is unbelievable.

Also, there's a difference between being considered for a film and being signed on for a film and then kicked out for no fault of your own. Stop whitewashing the wrongdoings of these people.

Thank you for this post.

When I was in a relationship which became abusive, it was the same - people were surprised it happened with me. That's the thing - the abuser uses such manipulation, gaslighting, controlling behaviour that by the time you find out you're dating a sociopath, you're already in deep waters.

In my case, I did go to the police, but I dropped the charges because I felt sorry for the guy. I hope he's doing well now wherever he is. He had major issues.

As for Aishwarya Rai - her family did go to the police. It was widely reported in 2002. The police took Salman Khan in for questioning but he got away with it. Not to mention the PHYSICAL signs that she had been abused. As well as the fact that journalists were on set the day he interrupted the Chalte Chalte shoot. And he was a known alcohol abuser - he would show up to his own film sets still drunk from the night before.

The fact that Ash has until this day maintained her DIGNITY just makes me want to cry. I aspire to be as strong and elegant as her.

Thank you for sharing your own personal experience here. First and foremost, I am so sorry for what you had to go through. I hope you are at a better and happier place in your life right now.

Though, I have never dealt with physical abuse, I have suffered from gaslighting. My friends and family could never comprehend how someone like me was unable to see through it. I’ve always been very assertive about standing up for others and have a strong justice-oriented approach, but when I found myself in the situation, I was the one always apologising, thinking that everything was my fault and that my shortcomings is the reason for all the issues to begin with. My self-esteem hit rock bottom and I truly, truly believed that I was not good enough. It took me years to snap out of it. So I reinforce my point that not everyone reacts the same. I have advised many women against the very same thing that I ended up falling victim too.

In regards to Aishwarya’s case, there was even bystanders who witnessed Salman allegedly pushing Aishwarya to the ground on the sets of Chalte Chalte. Everyone knows that Salman is an alcoholic with major anger management issues. But because the perpetrator in question is a popular actor, fans want to continue passing a blind eye to his shortcomings. Like him all you want, but don’t try to justify his actions when he is wrong.

You don't have to rate Aishwarya very highly as an actor – I don't – to simply acknowledge the fact that she has been a victim of physical abuse and has lost out on a lot of work and peace of mind because of the toxic presence that was Salman Khan in her life. The 'first choice' thing is a separate issue altogether and I have never cared for it much, but she was kicked out of films like Chalte Chalte after the shooting had already started because Bhai created a nuisance on the sets. Shahrukh should've stuck by her – he instead made Ash pay for bully Salman's fault.
