Chapter 27
"Vengeance and retribution require a long time;
it is the rule.”
“Do you ever feel that way?"
asked Ridhima
"Like Lonely?"
then pausing a bit she said
"More like incomplete"
Then taking a deep sigh she continues again
"Restless. As if you haven't met yourself yet. As is you'd passed yourself once in the fog, and your heart leapt - 'Ah! There I Am! I've been missing that piece!' But it happens too fast, and then that part of you just disappears into the fog again. And you spend the rest of your days looking for it."
"Hmm,"
He says
and Ridhima felt he was appeasing her. She felt stupid about having said it. It's all sentimental and true, but she had revealed a part of herself that she shouldn't have.
"Do you know what I think?"
Ridhay said at last.
"What?"
she asked
"Sometimes, I think you get a glimpse of it in another person,”
says Ridhay getting a lost look in her eyes

said Ridhay while Ridhima had a sad smile hearing him.
"I know what you are going through, but Sejal told me you are trying to move on. Is this how you do it Ridhima? I know it is not easy but remember it I'm with you"
said Ridhay realizing and understanding Ridhima was crying silently.
"You were not there when I needed you to be there the most. Remember, you never used to speak with me while we were kids,"
said Ridhima with pain in her voice that could be felt by Ridhay on the other end making his grip tighten on his cell phone.
Taking a deep breath Ridhay says,
"I promise, from now on, I will always hold a candle for you – even until it burns my hand. And when the light has long since gone …. I will be there in the darkness holding what remains, quite simply because I cannot let go"
making her surprised with his honest declaration which can be felt by her.
"Also, I will speak with Mr Chauhan and make sure Vansh be safe in the jail. Neither Kabir nor anyone else would do anything to him there. Okay? You don't worry."
Ridhay asks her wit a soft voice
"Thank you,"
Ridhima said with a sad yet grateful smile playing on her lips
"Ridhima, now stop crying and make sure you give the best gift to Vansh,"
said Ridhay with a strong voice encouraging Riddhima
"I will,"
she said with the same determined resolution radiating from her voice and eyes.

In Jail:-
Kabir drags Vansh with his collar and pushes him to the cell only to get a death glare from Vansh for his audacity while Kabir was closing the doors of the prison with a 'thud' sound was heard! Vansh turns back while Kabir stands with a smirk on his face and hands in his pocket.
"Finally, a dream come true moment for me,"
says Kabir then holding the grills of the prison
"I must thank two girls of our lives - Ragini and Ridhima,"
he continued saying while locking his eyes with Vansh.
"Don't take Ridhima's name from your filthy mouth?"
snarled Vansh.
"She is Mrs Vansh Rai Singhania,"
said Vansh with a possessive anger
"Oh really? But I have heard very soon you are going to get divorced than how come she is still your wife?"
said Kabir in a mocking voice and laughing.
"You know what Vansh. I told loads of non-sense about you to Ridhima, however, yet her pure heart loved you and truly at that. But what you did? You choose Ragini over Ridhima?"
Kabir claps his hands while laughing.
"Bravo, but you know what, this proof is given to me by Ridhima, not Ragini,"
Kabir said bluffing and lying smoothly through his mouth when Vansh pulled Kabir closer to him with his collar,
"If you practice your lies, on me, do not forget; I would be the best liar, for you as the Tit for Tat, but not to the honest and fair person, So, don't even try to take Ridhima's name from your shi*** mouth,"
said Vansh with a low threatening voice then pushed him and making him fall on the ground.
Kabir angrily gets up while Vansh says,
"At the limit of your lies, the mighty power of mine begins. So shut your mouth and I know who has deceived me. Let me ask you this, I'm Vansh Rai Singhania, who is your father Kabir? If not tell me your mother's name?"
mocking Kabir with a smirk playing on his face and walking inside too and fro like a lion who has been caged, is ready to pounce on his prey that was standing in front of him.
"Don't, Vansh?"
said Kabir pointing a finger of his at him
"Ah, wait! Let me guess. You are the illegitimate son of Anupriya, the step-mother of mine. So it makes you my half-brother? Isn't it Kabir?"
Vansh says with a scoff and a mocking smirk on his face.
Kabir was shocked to hear and realize that Vansh knows the truth about him and his mother Anupriya. He never thought the truth will be out so soon yet he covers his expressions with a smirk,
"So what? You cannot go anywhere Vansh. I will make sure you rot in jail for the rest of your life. Got that? You better"
says Kabir while taking a baton from the side and gets inside the jail. While he raises the baton, a voice was heard making him stand rooted on his spot.
Mr Chauhan, the world-famous criminal lawyer along with him was CBI Chief Mr Shekhawat and Mohan Pandey.
"What Mohan is doing here?" thinks Vansh while Kabir moves out from the prison and salutes.
"Mr Kabir, from now onwards Mr Vansh Rai Sighania's case will be handled by Mohan Pandey,"
saying so declared Mr Shekhawat.
"Sir, how can a normal inspector take up this case?"
said Kabir agitation was clear in his voice while losing his temper.
"Control Mr Kabir. Who said Mohan is just an inspector? He is Head of CBI, Mumbai branch"
says Shekhawat shocking both Kabir and Vansh.
Mohan gets inside the jail cell and walks out with Vansh. Vansh looks at Mr Chauhan and the latter says,
"All because of Ridhima"
making Vansh's eyes moisten up.
While Vansh was walking away, he turned back and looks at Kabir who had set his eyes on Vansh. Kabir was unable to bear the winning smirk on Vansh's face while Vansh was happy that Ridhima is making sure to do what she promised to him.
Both Mohan and Vansh sits in the van then Vansh looks at him, and asks
"So you have been noting things down since the day you have entered into the VR Mansion. Isn't it?"
“There is not a crime, not a dodge, not a trick, or a swindle, there is not a vice which does not live by secrecy. So I wanted to know who is the crime lord of India, the one whom RAW and Interpol is searching for"
says Mohan.
"But I'm not,"
Vansh said angrily
"I know,"
said Mohan calmly.
"Then release me,"
says Vansh
"I know it but not the law. We need evidence to prove you are innocent while right now we have evidence which says you are the Mafia lord whom the world is searching"
says Mohan with firmness making Vansh turn his face.
"Then tell me, who is that person?"
asked Vansh
"Common, Vansh Rai Singhania. Don't act so dumb now. I didn't expect this from you?"
replies Mohan while lighting his cigarette.
"Are you saying, Rudra Chachu...?"
Mohan smirks at him and raises his eyebrows at him while truth downs into Vansh's brain. Now he knows who is that person.

Ragini was still thinking about the moment she got slapped by Ishani. She has never expected to get slapped by that spoiled brat. She was unable to control her anger and she knows there is only one person who can help her. Quickly fishing out her mobile she dialled a number and said to the person
"I want to meet you now"
Then, she walks into the outhouse to meet the person.
"Tell me, Ragini, what is it?"
saying so asked the person
"Ishani slapped me; Neither you nor this family had stopped her,"
says Ragini with agitated
"What else were you expecting from her? We both knew this is going to happen before we began this game,"
said the person with raised eyebrows
"I know but you know my anger issues. I just want to teach Ishani a good lesson"
says Ragini whining then angry at the mention of Ishani
"I know, but remember she is pregnant,"
says the person
"She never thought about me. Last time do you remember she tried to kill me and now this slap. I will make sure she pays heavily"
says Ragini while piercing her nails in her palms in anger.
"I understand but as I said remember she is pregnant. You're already living in guilt, do you want to add to it?"
says the person while Ragini shouts
"Fine."
"Okay if it makes you feel any better if an opportunity arises in the future and at the right time I'll teach her a lesson of her life."
said the person appeasing Ragini and garnering a smile from her.
"Now what next?"
asks Ragini
"The best defence is a confusing offence,"
said the person
"And, how you are going to do it?"
asks Ragini
"Like how we are doing it now. Be careful Ragini, now, everyone in the VR Mansion is waiting to kill you. So make sure you be alert all the time, of course, you aren't alone. I am there with you and won't let anything happen with you but still be on alert."
says the person leaving Ragini alone in her thoughts.

Dadi walks-in into Rudra's room along with Kailash and the rest of the family while Rudra was lost in his thoughts.
"How could you do this to Vansh, Rudra? How could you be in Mafia?"
said Dadi making Rudra flinch
"I didn't expect this from you, Maa,"
says Rudra with tears in his eyes.
"Yes, I do agree. I hate Vansh because he has taken control over the house and business but I would never and ever do such a cheap trick. I was the first one to take him in these hands of mine when he was born. I will fight my fights but would never play such a game with him"
says Rudra making others feel sorry
"But then who can do this in this house? Who is running Mafia on Bhai's name?"
says Ishani looking at everyone
"It can be Anupriya,"
say Kailash from nowhere
"What?"
says Dadi along with Sia and Ishani
"How can you say such things Chachu,"
asks Sia
'Why not Sia? We all are blood-related. However, she is the step-mother of you all. Since day one I have never liked her because of her attitude. I have always felt something fishy with her but I let it go because she took care of you, three kids, for all these years. But these days the way she is behaving. It makes me feel she is the root cause of everything. Her son..."
says Kailash grabbing everyone's attention once again to him.
"What about her son?"
asks Aryan
"Maybe, her son was never kidnapped. He is the one who is doing this in the name of Vansh? We all know Anupriya is the authoritative signature holder of VR Industries, she might have taken this as a chance"
says Kailash making everyone convinced with his words.
"But Chachu, why would Mom lie about her son, like that?"
asks Ishani
"Money, Ishani. It can make people do anything. Well, she might be in this for money. Who would suspect her if she has given 15 years of her life to this family? No one right. Then why don't we check on her once before Rudra Bhai"
says Kailash while moving from the place and unaware that someone has listened to his entire conversation with the family!

Kailash knew someone is following him and when he turns back Anupriya pushes him towards her room and says,
"How dare you to say I'm the Mafia lord, Kailash Rai Singhania?"
says Anupriya while digging her nails in his neck.
Kailash pushes her to the side and says,
"I told you long back, never and ever mess with me. However, it is your son who did this. Why did he arrest Vansh? I told you that say to your soon to be away from Vansh, then why?"
Kailash shouts at Anupriya scaring her to the core.
"Kailash, you know Kabir.."
Kailash takes the knife from the side of the table and points it at her neck,
"Not a word Anupriya. I'm a Rai Singhania. I'm good for people who are good to me and worse for the people who mess with me. Trust me, Anupriya I will make your life living hell from now-onwards. You would beg me for the death but, even then I won't present it to you so easily"
says so Kailash starts leaving but Anupriya falls on his feet,
"No, No. I'm sorry Kailash. Please, save me. Only you can do this as you are the one who is pushing me to the edge of the cliff"
says Anupriya picking up the knife which Kailash left.
The moment Kailash saw the reflection of Anupriya picking the knife which he left in the mirror, he turns around and slaps her making her fall.
"I told you Anurpiya, don't play games with me. Yet you do the same mistake again and again. Now, I cannot. The game has begun, Anupriya. May the best player win"
says Kailash leaving Anupriya raging with anger.

In jail: -
Vansh was moved to the new jail while this was much more comfortable than before but it wasn't about luxury, at least he wouldn't be watching Kabir in front of his eyes. He sits near the small window present and looks at the moon. He smiled remembering how Riddhima behaved when she got drunk. That little woman loves the moon. The woman whom he had been with loved materialistic things, whereas she loves and finds happiness in the smallest and the most minimal of things but in return, the smile she gives is something he can't buy by giving millions.
"In some ways, betrayal is inevitable. When our bodies betray us, surgery is often the key to recovery. When we betray each other, the path to recovery is less clear. We do whatever it takes to rebuild the trust that was lost. And then there are some wounds, some betrayals that are so deep, so profound, that there's no way to repair what was lost. And when that happens. There's nothing left to do but wait" thinks Vansh while watching the moon.
He rests back and remembers the number of times when Riddhima tried to warn him about his family members but he never listened to her. Why? Because he is mighty Vansh Rai Singhania, nothing can pass without his approval and well they were his family. But then today? Everything happened when he was present right at the place.
He opens his eyes and stares at the moon again, "Tough times don't define you, they refine you. ?And now I understood what I always wanted the most - Riddhima. But would she forgive me? I chose Ragini over her, I humiliated her and I told her I don't need her. Would she come back to me?
He opens his wallet and sees Riddhima's picture in it which Sia had clicked and kept in his pocket and he doesn't know why he never removed it. Now, he understood why. He looks at the picture and closes his eyes, as the cool weather was pushing him towards a night of deep sleep.

"She was running. Running as if her life depended on it. She heard voices saying, mocking her to run and save herself. This time she saw a little boy who is saying her to run and not to turn back. He was standing at a distance slowly fading away in a mist. His voice was low and sounded distant. She doesn't know how long she was running. She reached a dead-end. She didn't know where to hide, but then she saw a cow-shed to the right side of her's and she hides in there.
The same man who wore the pendant comes near the cow-shed but she was unable to recognize the face of his as it is covered with the dark red colour of blood and seeing him, she kept her hands on her mouth so she doesn't end up screaming in fear or even sound of her breath. But alas, the time was not on her side at the moment, the bad man had seen her.
He dragged her out of the cow-shed and pulled her near to a well. She closed her eyes in fear because she knew if she opened her eyes she would need to see the bad uncle. And suddenly she was thrown into the well."
"Ahhhhh"
shouted Riddhima waking up and also making Sejal jump on the bed.
Sejal catches Riddhima and shaking her to wake up says
"Babes are you okay? Tell me, babes. Open your eyes first."
Riddhima opens her eyes and said,
'I cannot see anything?"
she says whimpered
"What? Riddhi babes, I'm right in front of you"
shouts Sejal worriedly
"I'm unable to see you Sejal. All I can see is darkness"
says Riddhima while tears were pouring from her eyes.
"No, No. Don't think about the darkness. Okay, listen to me, imagine me and you sitting on the swing and enjoying the cool weather"
says Sejal trying to distract her,
"I cannot see anything," Riddhima says
Sejal knew whom she should call and who can help her. She picks her phone and soon picking up the phone the person on the other side asks,
"What now? Better be important"
says Ridhay
"It's darkness,"
says Sejal making Ridhay alert while he says,
"Keep the phone near her ear."
"Riddhima, listen to me. I'm with you. I and you both started walking.
It is a place of brilliant sunlight, dappled. Shafts of lemon-gold brilliance lanced down to the forest floor between bars and pools of brown-green shade; and the light isn't still, never constant, because drifting mist would often float among the treetops, filtering all the sunlight to a pearly sheen and brushing every pine cone with moisture that is glistening when the mist lifts. Sometimes the wetness in the clouds condenses into tiny drops half mist and half rain, which floats downward rather than fell, making a soft rustling patter among the millions of needles.
There is a narrow path beside the stream, which is led from a village-little more than a cluster of herdsmen's dwellings - at the foot of the valley to a half-ruined shrine near the glacier at its head, a place where faded silken flags streamed out in the Perpetual winds from the high mountains, and offerings of barley cakes and dried tea were placed by pious villagers. An odd effect of the light, the ice, and the vapour enveloped the head of the valley in perpetual rainbows.”
Ridhay can hear her breaths were normal by now,
"Riddhima, now open your eyes,"
he says making her open her eyes,
"Sejal,"
she says while getting a bone-crushing hug from her and Riddhima falling back with laughter and Ridhay cuts the call with a smile on his face knowing she is fine while his hands turn into a fist in anger.

Lol glad to see his character coming out and I can't wait to find out who is this mystery person that Ragini is talking with. Vansh... finally his road to redemption started
Realisation occurs when person hits rock bottom holds true for Vansh Rai Singhania......the one person whom he wanted to break to the limit of insanity comes forward first to help him....
I guess redemption for Vansh will start the moment Riddhu steps out of mansion......the sufferings the agony the burning pain will be constant companion of Vansh......

Was curious to know when the Rai Singhanias will come to know about Riddhu's connection with Shergill and Randhawa's..!!??...... would love to see Ishani's reaction when she comes to know that the person Sejal whom she was calling a middle class trash is actually Sakshi Randhawa Shergill's daughter.....n Riddhu is their family member.....
OH MY GOD! I can so relate to the last part. This is what I imagine someone saying to me whenever I am having a panic or anxiety attack. It's very similar scenery. Especially the valley stream. I was so shocked at the similarity between the situation and the description.
The chapter was amazing! Can't wait to read the next one.
I think the boy she was running with was maybe Ridhay. It could be Vansh too. Glad that Vansh realized his mistake and the importance of Riddhima. But he really doesn't deserve her. I do wish to see him suffer and wanting Riddhima back but I don't want her to return to him. I don't think any of the readers want this or at least most of us.
Please pair Riddhima and Ridhay together and separate Vansh and Riddhima.
