Heyyyy T!

Kia likkha hai yar! 👍🏼⭐️ AWESOME! Matlab it was all so well-written... mere ko lag rha tha ke mien Aniruddh ke sath uss ship per hun, watching him dying slowly with each passing day just because he had such heavy emotional baggage... Bechara... I feel so bad for him. Mere ko samajh nahi aarhy ke aakhir isko control kerna hi kyun tha? Biwi hai bhai teri... kiss ker le kerna hai tou.. koi maaray ga thodi... 😭 Next update mien pleaaaaaase bechare ko thodi si tasalli dila dou. I feel sad...ke woh abhi bhi sirf dur se Bon ko dekhne ki planning ker rha hai...

In the first chapter, it was all about Bondita. And it was so beautifully written. I liked it that she was at least confident ke Aniruddh uske beghair nahi reh payega... 😆 But yar.. bechari ka sindoor wagera hatwa dia...

Cant wait for the next update yar... 😳

T🤗. Most beautiful and emotional work by you till now. 👍🏼 Thanks for writing this. 😊 I understand it would have taken lots of effort from your side, but it was definitely worth it.

Expressed Ani's emotions really well. On one side he wants her bon to be self-reliant and on the other side he is scared of going bon away from him. Can feel his insecurity and fears. 😒

I can empathize with him and just wanted to give him a tight hug. No one is trying to understand him. There is no one who listen to him without judging.

Flashback was ❤️

Keep writing. Next update kab?

Unresd. Was caught up in some urgent tasks. Hence couldn't comment then.

Sorry for late reply 🥳

Anirudh has finally woken up to how he feels but still confused because he had not heard from Bondita since the day she sailed away.

He had updates of her process in her study but nothing about her

Why is he so 😞 without her especially when everyone in his household are not happy with 🙋‍♂️ for sending her away.

please can you translate the following so I can understand the story more

Log kahte hai ki Bondita mera krantika mashal hai, per yeh bhi toh sahi hai ki Bondita mere sukoon hai, mere zindegi ka tahrao hai…

Tum inn rishton ki pinjre mai bandhho ke nahi rah sakti Bondita…tumhe urna hoga…tumhe ajad hona hoga uss asman kochune ke lye…

Bohot strong hai meri Bondita, mai Janta hu tum apni aap ko samhal logi…per mai strong nahi hu Bondita, isi liye toh khudko samhal hi nahi pa raha hun…tumhari itni aadat per chuki hai ki nahi rah pa raha hu tumhai bina…

I know, ki mujhe London nahi jana chahiye, per mai kya karu? janti hu ki mai swarti hun, lekin ager aur kuch dinbhi India me mai rukta toh pagal ho jata…

Tumhe pata hai? Mujhse koi baat nahikar rehe hai, na Kaka, na Som aur Batuk, aur nahi Bihari aur Koeli… maine Kakase unki beti chin li, Som se uska behen aur Batuk se uska dost, Bihari aurKoeli toh apni choti malkin ke bina mujhe chotemalik nahi manta…

Ghar pe isbar koi puja nahi hua aurnahi koi uttsab manaya gaye hai, Kaka ne toh saaf saaf kah dia hai ki ‘Jab takghar ki Lakshmi wapas nahi a jati tab tak kuch nahi manaya jayega iss gharmai’…asa lagta hai ki tum apni sath sath uss ghar ki sari roshni bhi leke gayiho, sach bolu toh khander jasa lagta hai abb woh haveli…wase bhi jis ghar maitumhari hasi ki awaaz nahi gungti ho kya wo mera ghar ho sakta hai?

Lekin yeh sab bate tum tak nahi pahuche gi, mai bas ek baar tumhe dur se dekhke chala aunga… meri Bondita atmanirvar ban rahi hai ya ban chuki hai, mai kamjor nahi kar sakti use…

Accha, kya mai sah paunga, ager Bondita mere bina thik hui…kush rahi toh? Kya mai iss sach ka samna kar paunga ki use abb meri koi jarurat nahi hai?

Bondita ko sahi raah pahchan ne ke lye abb mari jaruraat nahi hai, use uski raah mil chuki hai…lekin ager wahi raah use mujhse dur le gai toh?

Uski ajaadi toh sirf ek temporary solution tha, take woh apni zindegi khulke jii sake, lekin agar usne hamesha kelye ajaadi mang li toh??

A very big thank you 😊

Chapter 2- Part 2

🎶 Purano sai diner kotha bhulbi ki re haay.

O sei chhokher dekha, praaner kotha, se ki bhola jaay.

Aay aar-ektibar aay re sakha, praaner maajhe aay.

Mora sukher dukher kotha kabo, praan jurabe taay.

Mora bhorer bela phul tulechhi, dulechhi dolaay–

Baajiye bnaashigaan geyechhi bokuler talaay.

Haay maajhe holo chhaarachhaari, gelem ke kothaay–

Aabar dekha jodi holo sakha praaner maajhe aay🎶

“You are up early Dear!” The female voice with thick British accent broke the musical spell in the room, startling the young girl sitting on the Piano bench. Her fingers lost their balance over the ivory keys causing the musical notes to scatter.

Bondita turned to face the older woman with a kind face, Katherine Roberts, her landlady.

“Mrs.Roberts!! I-I was just repairing the piano.” She checked the strings one last time before dropping the piano lid, while gathering the tuning hammer and mute kits she added, “By the way it’s done.”

“Yes, I heard.” She smiled, “Thank you for saving me the trouble of calling the technician…and I’m sorry for scaring you.”

“No! It’s just I wasn’t expecting anyone to wake up so early!” Bondita smiled sheepishly,“I didn’t awake you, did I?”

“Of course not! You know this room is sound proof.” She eyed the young girl with concern, the girl standing in front of her hardly resembled the bright eyed girl who had walked in her home with Aniruddh seven months ago. Her round cheeks has shallowed highlighting a sharp jawline, in fact the amount of weight she have lost in the last few months would have been worrisome if not those lost lbs gave her a more feminine figure. Her face splitting smiles have reduced to a melancholic one, her once shinning and open eyes now looked like they are hidding thousand thoughts inside them. And the situation was only getting worst since last Thursday. She tried to contact Aniruddh but his secretary informed her that he was out of Calcutta.

Katherine put her right hand on Bondita’s hair and gently caressed her head, “Are you ok sweetheart?” she hoped her gesture was motherly enough because she had never raised a daughter and she had no idea how to handle a teenage girl, that too,one who has seen so much in her life already.

“Yes!! Of course!Why wouldn’t I be ok?”

“Because my motherly senses are telling me so …and you skipped dinner, again.”

“Did I?” she looked baffled for a moment, “I guess I forgot, I was preparing for my presentation and it must have escaped my mind.”

Her reply kinda scared the older woman but she didn’t show it in her face nor did she press her for a better explanation, instead she said, “It happens! But would you like to join me for some tea and cookies?”

“Sure.” And there was that smile again, the one that didn’t reach her eyes.

Katherine watched as Bondita twirled a spoon in her tea absentmindedly. She was hoping the girl will open up about her problems if she gave her enough space and gave her a relaxed environment but it seems her tactics wasn’t working. Something have to be done, maybe she should contact her other family members…she was so lost in her planning that when Bondita finally spoke up she was shocked…pleasantly shocked.

“Mrs.Roberts, do you believe in destiny?” “That everything is predestined and we only walk the path that has been curved for us a long time ago.”

“No I don’t.Cause if our actions were predetermined then what would be the point of haven and hell? But I do believe that God has a plan, he sees the bigger picture, the grater good and he always pushes the right person towards the right direction.”

“So you think whatever happens it happens for the best?”

“Absolutely. Now, would you please tell me if this questions have anything to do with what happened in last Thursday?”

“You noticed, huh!?” She sighed and put her cup on the table, “Last Thursday was my 6th wedding anniversary and he didn’t even call. You know, I was counting days for this day because he promised me once that he will not go out of my sight on the day of our anniversary and he didn’t or at least he didn’t used to.” She sniffed then continued “ One time he had important court hearing on that day so he took me to Calcutta with him and let me sit on the spectator area through out the whole hearing but this year he didn’t even call nor did he sent me a letter and-and…” before she could finish whatever she wanted to say her voice broke into sobs. Katherine quickly took the girl in her arms while she kept mumbling ‘Patibabu ne aapna wada kyun toda’.

This was the honest conversation she was hoping for but she never expected that their heart to heart talk was going to hurt the poor girl so much.

Suddenly Bondita hold her hand tightly and looked at her with pleading eyes, “Ha-have you talked to him? I know Mr. Roberts talks to him but he doesn’t tell me any thing, would you please tell me how he is? I just want to know if he is ok, please!!”

“He must be alright, after all he is with his family.” She tried to reassure the crying girl.

“No, you don’t know-” she hick uped, “He sometimes has trouble interacting with his family, to make them understand his point of view he needs a mediator.”

“And you are that mediator.”

“Were. And our family members were already angry before we left, I don’t how he is dealing with them. Not to mention the additional troubles he invites upon himself.”

“Bon-dita, it hasn’t been that long, I’m sure he is perfectly fine.”

The young girl snorted in a very unladylike manner, “Clearly you don’t know him like I do, the sun can forget to rise but my Patibabu can never forget to find trouble. It is impossible that he hasn’t found any problem to jump into in the last seven months.” She was complaining but her eyes were saying a different story because Katherine could see after a long time her tear filled eyes were smiling in remembrance.

An hour and a half later when she and Mrs. Roberts were putting breakfast on the table Mr.Roberts finally Joined them and like all man he gave a toothy smile seeing the different variety of foods. He greeted Bondita with a good morning then went strainght to his wife and kissed her lightly on the lips.

Bondita quickly looked away, blushing. Her curious mind wanted to ask why they keep doing it? She had guessed they do it to show affection, she had seen other couples do the same thing, that too in public. But if that was the case then why didn’t the couples in her country do the same? Or did they? She remembered her Sampurna didi and Jamai babu being affectionate with each other before his death, if all couples did that then why didn’t she and her Patibabu…

She couldn’t think any farther, at the thought of being with her Patibabu like that her stomach flipped, almost painfully and she could feel the heat creeping up her cheeks.

Hey Dugga Maa, they are putting idea’s in my head and if I’m being honest, in my dreams too.

But she didn’t wanted to dwell on those dreams, especially when she had audience. She quickly shoved a sandwich in her mouth, what was the point of savoring it when she had already lost her appetite…

“What’s the emergency dear?” The couple looked at her curiously.

“I have that presentation today, remember? Can’t be late.” Gobbling down the remaining food with some juice then quickly deposited the dishes in the sink.

“Yes!! The World will end if you are not punctual or score the highest number in your class.”

“It will, for me at least. Good day Mr. & Mrs. Roberts. Don’t bother with dinner tonight, I’ll cook.” She said while pulling her hunter green velour over coatfrom the hanger by the door. She quickly put it on over her olive green saree but stayed careful not to mass up her long braid which almost touched her mid thigh.

“Thank you dear but I don’t think we have-”

“I’ll do the grocery shopping on my way home.”

“All right,have a good day!”

“You too!”She walked out of the door, pulling it shut behind her.

Outside, the Sun has finally graced London with its presence after a week of snowfall and monotonous gray sky. The houses which were draped in white snow until yesterday night, now there’s hardly a thin layer of ice left, icicles were melting from the tree branches.

Today was going to be a rare sunny day. She hurried toward the London underground to take the Tube.

When Bondita walked into the main quad of the UCL campus with it was 9:40, she was making her way towards the Wilkins Building that’s when a voice called her fro her left.

“Bondita, ruko…” The owner of the voice was half running-half jogging toward her from the Faculty Building, he had a knapsack thrown over his right shoulder and in his hurry he probably forgot to close the bag, he was leaving a trail of pencils, paintbrushes and other paraphernalia on his walk…well run.

Koushik Mukherjee, a fellow Bengali LLB student, six feet tall, tan in coloring with head full of curly black hair, had a innocent infectious smile, the kind make you want to smile too. His light brown eyes were literally shinning behind his gold rimmed glasses.

At least someone woke up on right side of the bed this morning!

After reaching her he waited to catch his breath, “Guess what?”

“Tumhari Baba ne finally tumhe Shantiniketan jane ki permission de dia?” His smile fella little and instantly she felt guilty for ruining his good mood. She knew the likelihood of that happening was little to none.

Samaresh Mukherjee,a well known businessman in India who was currently stationed at Asam to set up his Tea State, was very adamant to make his only son a well educated Barrister.Even though Koushik can not argue or use logic to save his life and his five daughters were more eligible to fulfill his dream. But what did their father do? He forcefully married them off in rich conservative families where no one supports girls education.

She sighed, Sab mere tarha kushkismat thorihi na hotehai?! Kash mai kuch kar pati un larkio ke lye, ya phir Patibabu ko bata pati…Senseing the dangerous territory her thoughts were traveling toward she stilled herself to focus on the present, “Sorry, kya bol rahi thi tum?”

“Guess who is coming as the Chief Guest in our Annual Cultural Program?” He paused for a dramatic effect but seeing her less then enthused expression he decided toreveal it, “Rabindranath Tagore!!”

Bondita’s eyes rounded, “What? Really?”

“Yes. And guess who has been assigned as the Stage Director of the entire program?”

“You, of course!” Aur kiske pas itna waqt hai jo padahi chorke Stage ke piche itna waqt barbad karega?

Stage was his life. He was brilliant at theatrics, an accomplished rhymester, a talented painter and truthfully his talents were wasted here in the Law College.

“Let’s go, we have to start preparing for the festival, I’ve so many ideas. First you’ll sing a capella then I’ll decide which instruments we’ll need to accompany your voice. Then there’s the matter of arranging-”

“Wait!! The annual program is three months away and we have to present our assignment in 15 minutes.”

All colors drained from his face like he had seen a ghost, “That.is.to-today?” He stammered-whispered.

She nodded while eyeing the buildings for any familiar face, her search stopped at a Spaniard doing breathing exercise under the humongous pillars of the Main Building.

“Sergio!” she waved him over, "If you are done having your Panic attack of the day can you please help Koushik to reach our class? I think he is in shock and I’m getting late.” She said in a steady tone while straightening her binders.

He grumbled something inaudible from the top of the stairs but did as she said. No one questioned her authority as the student council President.

With a slight shake of her head she left for her class and when she walked by she grabbed everyones attention. She was the youngest student there and likes to wear saree with boots, who definitely didn’t follow the concept ‘jasa desh vaisa bhesh’. She wears confidence like ornament and courage like a crown, her arguments were both her weapon and her shield.

If you go by her appearance she was the picture of simplicity but the way she carried herself- with her head held high, never afraid to speak her mind or the way she walked like the gait of a regal women, in the eyes of her fellow students she was no less than a royalty.
