Bani to khud akele kuch nahi kar paati, kabhi Veeranshu aata hai, kabhi Shivji aate hai, to kyun banaya hai isko Naagin, agar isko kuch karna hi nahi hai. Visiting Twitter and witnessing the filth these people engage in, it's not my cup of tea. Bani is a weakly written and shitty character, nothing can save it. Surbhi fandom can howl their lungs out, but Bani is bad news. The only saving grace has been her chemistry with Veeranshu, and Veeranshu overall, and thank the other Cheels, for making this season bearable.

Yes, as a viewer, I feel Bani is a weak character. She has no shades. None of her shades have been explored. Her strengths haven't been explored. What she can and cannot do as Adi Naagin hasn't been explored. She is the heroine. In ITV, people always connect with the heroine. Because that is how it works. Uske kahaani se emotions ko joda jaata hai, uske liye achcha lagna, uske liye bura lagna, uske liye dukhi hona, uske liye khush hona. People invest their emotions with heroines. Heroes have never been given that value or haven't been as important as the heroine. And going by recent trends, very few male characters are written well. Be it a Shivraj Shekhar of Baalika Vadhu, be it Ishaan Kashyap of Sasural Genda Phool, be it Hanuman Singh of Patiala Babes. Very rarely we have seen a good portrayal of men. Because we always connect with the heroine.

But I don't feel any connection for the heroine. I don't feel emotions for Bani, I don't feel bad or sad, or happy or anything for her. And that is bad writing. The time these people have invested in creating a layered grey shaded character like Veeranshu, they haven't done that for Bani. They haven't done justice to the supporting cast either, which is much better than other seasons.

Bani is a monotone, one shaded character because she has been written that way. I am no Naagin expert, but I have followed Season 1 and Shivanya was an amazing and convincing Naagin. And this isn't the cast or the actor's fault, it's the maker's fault. Bani looks good with Veeranshu no doubt, but individually, I am sorry she doesn't. And the Cheels and Veeranshu together are very entertaining, and I don't need Bani to see them, I can see them as they are. But they too have been kept underutilized.

This is my opinion. You are open to critique it. We can agree to disagree, I don't mind. But I stand by it as well.

I can speak for myself! I have not intended to compare the leads here. I am of the opinion that bani is a flawed character, rather a poorly written character and poorly written doesn't necessarily have to be a weak character its actually inconsistent. I always felt that writers here are at fault, definitely not the actors ( if u felt I am targeting Surbhi or something), that's not the case at all. We moreover bash the writers here who has not developed bani's character graph as a lead naagin should be. Especially, with a talented actress like Surbhi, they have not utilized her potential at all!

My main issue with bani is her lack of emotions! She is shown strong, very strong! But that's the issue, I feel! She's shown only strong! A Woman who never needs anyone for help, who's here to give justice to her enemies, this larger than life most powerful Aadi-naagin. But she's never portrayed as this soft and vulnerable wife or a lover! Lover not just in case of Veeranshu, even in case of jay! She always lacked emotional depth! So we all here are mostly frustrated with her futile one-toned feeling she has all the time, ANGER!

PS: I honestly never aimed to compare Veeranshu and Bani. Moreover, I wished to root for bani also as much as Veer. But that has never happened till now! Regarding writing, I hands down feel Veeranshu is the most well written character compared to any other character on the show!
